He's Going to Camp AND We're Still Going to Disney:) Update Dec 14 post #665

Hi, I peeked in and you had a fun mini update of the mans weekend. The Lego was very cool. :thumbsup2 Hope Pooksma enjoyed her free time. ;)

Can't blame you there. My mom was a public school teacher. I'd take college over that any day! :thumbsup2

Most days, it is better but ut still has its moments.

MeMom is lucky. Our schools have the Disboards blocked! I think it's blocked because it is a discussion board.

Don't htey see the educational value of these boads. you could spends days on the Community Board alone.

We had a great time and I think she enjoyed her alone time.

A quick recap of our last episode.

We had supper at WC, served by Marshall Law, saw Nicole and David on the way out, hoped on a boat back to MK and entered the Sea of Humanity.

We walked into MK between Spectro and Wishes. As we made our way up Main Street, we were being forced to the right to the point that I thought we were going to have to go into TomorrowLand and make our way around to AdventureLand via Fantasyland. It was literaly wall to wall people. When we got to the top of the hub, I put my head down and made a hole for Pooksma to follow. ;)

We arrived at POTC and looked around. I asked Pooksma if she would recognize Cathy and she thought she could. We sat across from the entrance while we watch for our Dis friends. I thought it would be a good time for this picture:

We then noticed a young lady and what looked to be her two sisters standing near the entrance of POTC and looking aound , so we made out way over to see if it was them. A tentative greeting quickly turned into "Yes it is you; hello; so nice to meet you." We chatted for a few minutes and Nicole and David soon joined us. (I was actually surprised David didn't need to go to the washroom after drinking that 3 gallon bucket of soda that was on the table at WC. ;) )

Just as Wishes started, Nicole called MeMom and we got this group shot.

That is one fine looking group. :rotfl:

We walked on to POTC and jumpe dinto a boat with the younguns in front and us older kids in the next row. After another fun ride, we chatted some more in the gift shop and then said our goodbyes.

Pooksma and I headed for BTMRR as she would not ride Splash Mtn. The FP machines were closed and the line looked long so we decided to just walk around. Took some more pictures:

We noticed it was almost time for the second showing of Spectro, so we found a spot to watch along the fence near the runoff of Splash. Just after it started, a lovely young couple decided it would be nice to watch standing directly in front of Pooksma. Being the good dh that I am, I asked them to move and my mean voice must have worked because they did.

Here are some pictures from Spectro.

Continued in next post.

After the parade, we walked over to ride the Liberty Belle but it as closed so we went back to BTMRR and with a 20 minute wait, we had a ride on hte runaway train. I love these rides at night. :thumbsup2

Next up, we headed for Peter Pan. There were still FPs available so we grabbed a couple and went to Philharmagic. I hope that on one of our trips, i'l get to see this show:

Still had time before the Peter Pan, so we made our way to Buzz (I won) and tried for Space Mountain. Unfortunately, it was down and we didn't get to ride it on this trip. We walked back to Peter Pan and then finished up with Haunted Mansion. We rode this with about 10 people. Creepy but cool.

Next day wil take us back to EPCOT and an end to our trip at AK and a bonehed move on my part.

Oh believe me, as i remember he was DYING but we had to high tail it over to you guys and that morning my phone re-synced or something and I lost your number!

Hi,
Great update and pics.

those night shots are gorgeous.

Awesome night shots, Dad!

Maybe one day everyone will meet up again and I'll be going on the ride with you, not just joining in on the phone.

We will be back in four weeks. Things have been so crazy here that I really have not been able to be pumped up about it too much, but seeing those night pictures - Pirates, Spectro (including the drunken fish), and all those ghosts walking around in front of Country Bear Jamboree - they're definitely enough to make me stop and get excited for a minute or two before I head back into the battlefield today!

I hope all is well up there in the north. It's getting cool here, so I imagine it has jumped over from cool to cold up there by now. I'm hoping the weather in Florida will be just perfect when we're there.

All that water on POTC must have been a killer then. :rotfl2:

Thanks MeMom. I truly hope that we do get to meet in person some day. I think it owuld be fun.

The weather up here chages by the day. Today it was rainy, windy, and about 16 degrees (65 for you guys). Tomorrow it is suppose to be 6 degrees (45 or so).

That remark about the young lady and her 2 sisters just cracked me up and you now have a devoted fan forever!! :rotfl:

It was so much fun meeting all you guys! I hope we get to do it again some day and have Memom in attendance too.

I love your pictures of Spectro. You got some really good ones. But I think my favorite of what you took was the one in front of the Country Bear Jamboree. That is such a cool picture.

It does sound like we did a lot of the same things after parting. That really was such a fun night! You guys and Nicole and David were so much fun to talk to.

Your very welcome and it was great meeting all you as well. It is always nice to actually meet the people we "talk" to on this board.

Jumping in here since I have been absent for quite a long time.

First, I just viewed the boys weekend away pics for the first time myself-cool Lego shots!

I wanted to say too that a DISMeet is just about the coolest thing I have done at Disney so far. :worship: There's just something special about us DISers:lovestruc

Hi,

I wanted to say that I am loving your trip report. I love all the wonderful photos and your candid reporting.

I have been a fan of your photos from the POP thread. We are staying there in January and part of our decision was do to you and your wife and MeMom's great reviews of the resort.

I can't wait for more of your trip report.

We're honoured and happy to have you follow along with us. At the rate we are going we should be through the report just before you leave on your trip. :lmao:

I'm still around reading your report. And don't sweat how long it takes, I'm still in progress on my report from September 07! LOL

Happy Day After Halloween !! Hope you got lots of candy.
I was happy to see an update with new pics. :thumbsup2 You already know I love your pics, my favorite was the Spectro Mickey one.
I had no idea that there was a fireworks setting on a camera. Good to know as I decide which one to buy with the christmas bonus I will get this year. ;)

Arrived at Epcot just afetr the 9AM opening and immediately FPed Soarin'.
We walked over to Test Track where the wait was about 15 minutes. I really love this ride but it is the BEST at night.

Some queue shots:

DH was then off to Mission Space (orange)

while I waited outside. I was getting really warm by this point and there were many cranky people around.
Shaded spots were in high demand. We walked over to take a ride on Living with the Land before our ride on Soarin'.

I always like this ride as a recharge spot.

Alligator Pie, alligator pie, If I don't get some, I think I'm gonna die
