He's Going to Camp AND We're Still Going to Disney:) Update Dec 14 post #665

Canadians can't get drunk drinking American beer. :rotfl2:

:lmao: Had to have a good laugh at that one. My dh is from Montreal and he says the same thing. He doesn't drink any more but when he did he didn't like the American stuff. Also just wanted to add that I went to Bible School in Victoria Corner (just up the road from Heartland)NB. I use to go to Fredricton every week to the reserve to help out in a Bible Club for the kiddos.

If nothing else, I'm here for comic relief.:) (I'm sure there are some who will say that is all I'm here for.)

Are you from the area or did you simply come here for school?

I grew up in Skowhegan, Maine. I only went to Bible school in NB. I was there for 3 years.

What did you get? You will love Pop and I'm sure that you will come back with lots of great pictures. Can't wait to see them.

Cayman Islands sounds great to me.

Well theres a big mothers day sale at a local camera shop so we will be heading over this weekend, they allow you to take test shots of the ocean and if you get a good shot they print and sell it so I will be testing lots of cameras this weekend, just hope I make you proud. Of coarse I have never post pictures before but plan to post from this upcoming trip;)

Skowhegan is an Indian word that means, a place to watch. I sure do miss my home town. The HBO film "Empire Falls" was filmed there. Skowhegan also is home to the oldest continually run agricultual fair in the country. It has been going on every year since 1818. Skowhegan was the home to Margret Chase Smith who was the first women to be elected to the US Senate. Benedict Arnold also camped on the banks of the Kennebec River on his way to take Quebec from the French. Ok that is enough of my bragging. Sorry to hijack you thread for my little history lesson.

I'm looking forward to seeing your pictures.

No problem, never hurts to learn new things, especially about your neighbours.

Evening all. Thought I would share some pictures of our worse flood since 1973.

There is another building in front of this one but it is completely under water.

This is about 3 blocks from the river.

I would normally enter on to the bridge from one of these ramps.

There is a street here somewhere.

It supposedly crested this afternoon at 8.3 meters (about 27 feet) above normal.

Prayers go out to anyone and everyone affected by this flood.....really sad to see:sad1:

A woman I teach with had had 4 feet of water in her basement in 2005. This year it made it all the way to the first floor. I can't imagine dealing with that.

I'm sorry for those who have their homes affected. I know that is a real mess. How far away is this from your house?

What did Declan do on his day out of school?

We live close to the river but on top of an old volcano so there isn't much chance of flooding here. I have to cross the river each day and right now there is only one way on or off either of the bridges in the city. Commuters have handled it well and the emergency measures organization was well prepared. Other than that water problem, things have gone remarkably well.

I just like to pick on declansdad, sort of like a little brother. Giving him a cohort in little brother ways (getting in his jabs at the womenfolk) just makes our job a little tougher. But, we'll manage.

You picked the right report to read. Ma and Dad are good folks (never met 'em, but I just know they are), and they will come back with a great report and lots of awesome pictures that will make you feel like you are right there in Disney World.

And as an added bonus, they have a fantastic son with just THE winningest smile! I've watched him grow up right here on the screen during the last couple of years.

So, I really wasn't picking on you, but may pick at you, all in fun.

And I'm all for Canada, too.
The movie in Epcot was beautiful.
The drunk people that were in our group were not, but I don't think they were from Canada, so it's all good! :)

Anybody with three kids, a dog, a granddaughter (aren't granddaughters amazing????) and a love for Disney is more than okay in my book!

Since you're in Georgia, and I have to go through there on my way to Disney World, do you think you could have supper ready for us?
Can you cook like Paula Deen?

Oh, never mind. We're flying next time. I'll be eating peanuts when I'm going through/over Georgia.

By the way, staying on the GA theme, I lived in GA during two tours at Robins AFB (dad was in Air Force) when I was a kid. Are you near there?

I can cook like miss dean....and you are welcome anytime....and I live west of atlanta....but at one time lived In macon....so not to far at that time...

thanks for the warm welcome..and as far as picking at me...I love it!!!!

disneydad:thumbsup2

What did Declan do? Not sleep in as his Mom would have liked.:scared1: The usual-laundry, clean up his room, eat, eat and eat some more!

We watched Pirates 2:thumbsup2 and then walked up to my parents and played the Game of Life version with them. (I was Jack Sparrow but would have rathered Will:love: )

We are venturing across the river today to pick up a birthday present for a party he is going to tomorrow. Declan is excited to get a closer look at the river.

Graduation invites came in the mail yesterday and they are the lamest looking things I've seen! After all the money I have givent hem and even charging me to graduate ($35 to attend the ceremony) they can't even buy nice paper???

Happy day all.

Glad to hear that your home was not affected. Am praying for the ones who have been.

Mini update #1

This one is even trip related.

Delta has managed to make a minor change to our flights. They decided to change the last leg of our return trip. No biggee, quick call and we got it all fixed up.

We went a whole 3 weeks without a change.
