Hi,

I just found out that Hertz is off site at MCO. When I booked I was under the impression they were onsite.

Can someone tell me how often the shuttle goes to MCO from their location (around 15:30pm) and how long it takes (it's only for my departure because I start in Miami).

Thanks

they run quite frequently and its about a 5-10 minute ride to there facility

I have never really waited on the shuttle. Hertz usually has buses sitting at both the airport and thier lot and they leave every 5 minutes or so.

(Now Miami was a different matter. Haven't been there in years but I recall it being confusing! LOL!)

I like Hertz better then the other rental places overall. I think you will be fine. (Are you flying back international? If so be sure to give yourself PLENTY of time at MCO)

I have never had to wait for a Hertz shuttle in all of the many times I have used them.

Me either. They always have at least 1 bus sitting outside waiting for passengers. I have been the only passenger on the bus many times.

Thank you all for answering my question

Yes I'm flying international, departure is 19:00 so I'm planning to drop the car at 15:00 (4 hours to get to MCO, check in and go through security should be enough I think).

I'm planning on going to the Hertz location in Miami by taxi from the hotel I'm staying (the first days I have a congres and don't need a car)

The one time I used Hertz in Orlando (and I use Hertz about 75% of the time for the rest of my pretty extensive business and leisure travel) when we arrived a bus pulled up within a few minutes, we sat there for about 10 minutes while people loaded and waited for the driver to finish shilling for some restaurant to some other passengers before he finally took us for the five minute drive to the lot where I was given a car with a broken cigarette lighter, waited five minutes in the gold booth to get another car that I walked to on the other side of the very large lot there in Orlando.

On return we waited for approximately 15 minutes as we watched the "Next Bus will Depart in 5:00 minutes" timer countdown three times before being picked up and taken back to the terminal.

National is the way to go in Orlando, you return the car to the garage across the street from the terminal, unless Hertz were significantly less expensive there is no way I would pick them over National for an Orlando reservation, and I rent from Hertz 20+ times a year in other cities, so I certainly am not biased against Hertz in general, just in Orlando.

I had several very experiences with National at MCO. I found their cars in very poor condition compared to Hertz. I didn't see where I saved any time either by renting at the airport by the time I got things straightened out.

I have never had anyone shill for anything on a Hertz bus. I also rent quite a bit from Hertz during the year.

I have to say my last two National rentals at MCO gave me pause. I have used them in the past and will probably continue to do so, but.....quality and service seem to be taking a dive. (Heading right towards that Alamo standard of "No service") I had a defective car once and a dirty car last time. No apology etc just a shrug when I mentioned the mechanical issues with the car! (And don't get me started on the 20 mintue wait at the gate because they only had one open)

If the prices are comparable I will stick with Hertz. I find the MCO Hertz lot very well run. (The one in Atlanta is run by an IDIOT, but that's another thread!)

Yep, Hertz is great around the country (Ive yet to use them in MCO, but will in March). Their cars and service are top knotch and with a good combination of codes, you can usually get a pretty competitive rate...
