Hertz at MCO

We've never rented from them so had a few questions for anyone that has - I can't seem to find on their website if they allow spouses as a second driver without a fee? Also, we have a compact rental - what cars are there to choose from? (it says Chevy Cobalt or similar, but Cobalts weren't made in 2011 so wondering what they substituted with). Do they have kiosks, or do I just deal with the counter person? Thanks!

When I used them last year, free spouse was only for gold card holders. I got a free gold card for hertz by signing up with air france's frequent flier program. (I know wierd huh!) That promotion has ended unfortunately.

They seemed to have only chevy cars when I was there in october. I got a chevy traverse as a standard size suv. Sorry no idea what their puddle jumper was.

We rented from Hertz in March and wanted a compact as it was just my DD and me and we got a Toyota Yaris. This was the tiniest car I have ever seen. We barely got our luggage in and we just had two small suit cases and two carry-ons. We were sent an e-mail for on line check-in which we completed. I really don't think it help the procedures go any faster. We were one of the first people to get in line from our plane and when we got to the counter there was no one there so we did get through everything fairly quickly.

My DH is a gold card member but spouses can't use the card. WTH???? it's not even a business account. We love the gold service as there is no waiting. I wish they would change this. Thankfully, DH will be going on our fall trip. HTH

I just wanted to warn you that the Hertz location is not in the airport. You must take a shuttle to and from the airport to get to Hertz. I didn't know that and we missed our flight home because I drove around the airport lot for ages looking for where to return the car (we'd arrived in Sarasota and rented the car from there).

Hertz is MOST definately in the airport, both their counter and cars. Hertz moved from off-site to on-site early last year.

Good to know - I also noted on my reservation that it now says Nissan Versa instead of Chevy Cobalt - hope we can fit 4 adults and 4 suitcases in it - I know we can in our Cobalt.

Does anyone know what Hertz Full Size cars are? I used Hotwire which said Chev Impala or similar but my res shows Mazda 6 or similar. Mazda 6 tome seems more like a mid size.

From what I've seen lately, Malibu's seem to be common place in the F fleets.
