Hershey's Chocolate

Sing with me...Hershey's Chocolate, Hershey's Chocolate, the Great American Candy Bar... :goodvibes

I'm a Hershey girl. Try going to the park every week. My girls want to ride the Chocolate Factory tour every week. That darn song is stuck in my head.

Here's a little Hershey's Kiss for you. Enjoy.

What can be better than eating chocolate while doing a good deed :cool1:

I watched a special on The guy who invented the Hershey bar. Him and his wife started a boys school/orphanage and all profits from hershey bars went to support the school. Supposedly when they died his will stated that all future profits would continue to go to support this school..and maybe some other charities.

Sorry I'm being so sketchy but it's been a while since I watched the special and I don't remember the details.

Thanks alot, it worked, now I really want a Hershey bar.

I remember the factory tour they give in Hershey, PA. It smells soooooooooo good! And they give you a free candy bar at the end of the ride! There is a Hershey Spa where they use chocolate scented creams and soaps, but I've never been there.

In Hershey, there is a street with streetlights that are shaped like Hershey Kisses. It's cute. :goodvibes

Enjoy your chocolate. I think I'm going to raid the Halloween Bowl now.

Gotta luv it. Whats the best choc going? Choc chunk cookies do the trick for me.

I just found the Cherry Kisses this week. They're back!

And that school with all its profits is now funded by Hershey stock which is worth billions. Each student at Milton Hershey School has over $90,000 spent on them annually. That's not a typo. Ninty thousand dollars.....

We bought 100 full sized Hersey bars to pass out for Halloween. It rained early and we only had 40 kids, sooo we've been eating s'mores for dinner every night this past week!! (Did I mention my wife's pregnant?) :teeth:

I love Hershey's chocolate!!

Sing the old jingle with me

Hershey's makes the very best...choco-late

Just thought I'd give you all a "visual"...

YUMMMY!!!

Here's the recipe if you're interested:

Peanut Butter Surprise Cookies
Ingredients:
About 70 (one 11-oz. bag) HERSHEY'S KISSES Brand Milk Chocolates filled with Peanut Butter
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine, softened
1/2 cup REESE'S Creamy or Crunchy Peanut Butter
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 tablespoons light corn syrup
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/8 teaspoon salt
Granulated sugar
Directions:
1. Remove wrappers from peanut butter filled chocolates.

2. Beat butter and peanut butter in large bowl until light and fluffy. Add sugar, corn syrup, egg and vanilla; blend well. Stir together flour, baking soda and salt; add to peanut butter mixture, blending well.

3. Heat oven to 350°F. Shape dough into 30 (about 1-1/4 inch) balls. Press peanut butter filled chocolate piece into each ball; covering completely with dough. Reshape into balls; roll in granulated sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.

4. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown around edges. Cool slightly; remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely.

5. Set aside 30 peanut butter filled chocolates. Place remaining chocolates in heavy-duty resealable plastic food storage bag. Microwave at MEDIUM (50%) 1 minute; knead. If necessary, microwave at MEDIUM an additional 15 seconds at a time, kneading after each heating, just until chocolates are melted and mixture is smooth. Cut small piece from corner of bag; drizzle melted chocolate over cookies. Before drizzle sets, place peanut butter filled chcoolate in center of each cookie. Allow drizzle to harden. 30 cookies.

Mmmmm a Hershey bar with almonds and a nice cold glass of milk sounds great!
