Has anyone stayed at Twin Grove Park Campground in Pine Grove, PA? We are staying here in June in a cabin. We are going to Hersheypark also.

Any thoughts will be appreciated!!:cheer2:

We stayed at that campsite last year, and really enjoyed it. We were in a tent, so I can't say how the cabins are inside...but they looked nice outside. The bathrooms were nice and clean (and the individual bathroom/shower type). There was plenty to do. The kids enjoyed all the hiking and amusements.

Have a great time!

How does the price compare to Hershey High Meadow? Pine Grove is a distance away? For cost, there is a Econo Lodge at Grantville about 6 miles from Hershey, clean, breakfast and a lot less then camping or hotels at Hershey.I had AAA discount at $58. the last trip 4 years ago August.

My first years of taking the kids 25 years ago to Hershey High Medow, the cabins were 4 walls, 4 iron cots for $20....one year a Tornado blew through and many cabins were lost. Since then, there have been many changes in the cabins, along with booking almost a year ahead.

Staying onsite, they have the buses running every 10-20 minutes and no parking fee. that has gone up so much.
Nearby, the Giant Market has huge discounted tickets and if you know anyone from the Methodist Churches, Burger Kings, they have discounts too.

Check out on a rainy day, nearby Harrisburg. There is a museum next to the capitol and across the street the other side is Strawberry square, that had a please touch type museum. Also a cavern in Hummelstown.

The trolly tour from Chocolate world, and tour of the Hershey school with items of Milton Hershey is free to tour, the Museum is a small cost.
Trips to Gettysburg can be done in rain, as many activities in Lancaster.

Between Lebanon, and Lancaster, down 78 I think it is, in town a real old fashion candy store, every kind of candy you have a memory of and their own specialties.....soooo much fun. It is the exit from Lebonon, after Pine Grove, take it south or east. At the Rail Road tracks, ask someone nearby where the candy shop is....If I find the name i will post.
We saw it on the food network and had to stop by.

PS if you are at Pine Grove, check the route to KNOBOLES amusement park, free parking, free admision, food is know on food network as best in Amusement park food, The all day passes are not near what the Hershey are, but actually we by ticket books from AAA and never go through $50 worth. I hate paying the $$$$ at Hershey and am not a rider.
I is a real MUST TO DO!!!!! The kids will LUV it. You can take food in, there are picnic tables. GREAT POOL and water areas OH< and camping too.

Thank You for your suggestions.

We were going to Twin Grove Park because we wanted to stay in a cabin and Hershey High Meadows did not have any availability on their cabins.

My kids love to swim and want to bike ride as well as go to Hershey Park and any other attraction around there.

How long does it take to leisurely do the rides and attractions at Hershey Park? I was thinking of getting a 3 day pass. Would that be enough time? Although, if my kids know there is a waterpark that will probably be all they want to do!

Also, I belong to AAA. How do you get the Knoebbels $50 packs? I do not think they offer it at my AAA.

Pine Grove really isn't that close to Hershey. I would say a good 30 minutes away. I think you would be able to find cabins closer. Knoebels might be fun for your kids too!

http://www.knoebels.com/ There is a phone no. and email for information too,
Check to see, but I think on weekdays if you show the AAA card you get a discount on the tickets on site, Or AAA online may have an order site.

To do 3 days of driving to Hershey is pretty far to stay in Pine Grove,

I Know that we use to use the tickets for the preview the night before, and then spend the next day at Hershey and that was enough for us. Then you get the extra hrs for the one day pass. They stamp the ticket the night before, then you can use it the next day.

I know the cabins do sell out fast at Hershey, If you searched Cabins instead of camp grounds I think I remember, yeeeaaarrrs ago staying at some near Hershey.

It may be worth checking into just staying at the Econo for the night or two, then go to Pine Grove or Knobels area to cabin and camp,.
Hershey is HUGE.....almost the cost of Disney anymore, disappointing, and the parking on top. Just the drive is kind of far for a three day pass. From Pine Grove, to Lancaster is about the same drive. No big amusments rides there, Train ride, historical, Dutch Wonderland.

There are some really cute places to stay in or near Hershey two, for just a night or two.

The water park at Knobels has few water attractions, water slide and huge pool, the activity area water park is more for the toddler age.
Up North further are the water parks in the Pocono's were there is great cabins and camping too.

Anywhere you decide and what ever choices you make the kids will have a wonderful time. Shame Hershey Highmeadow is booked.

HersheyPark has a water park within the park called the Boardwalk. They are adding new rides and slides each year. I would say (depending on the ages of your kids and the types of rides they like) that you could do the evening preview and spend one whole day riding the rides and then a second day in the waterpark area. You REALLY need to watch your kids in the waterpark. They can go all over and in opposite directions quickly. There are lifeguards, but it still scared me. The Boarkwalk area has different hours from the rest of the park.

The regular ride areas of HersheyPark are as big in square miles as Disneyland in CA.

Have a fun trip!
