Hershey Inaugural Half Marathon - Oct 3rd

I'm bummed it's the same weekend as Wine n Dine. I would love to run where everything smells like chocolate. Sounds so dreamy. But maybe next year.

Wow. Just got the email. It looks so cool. I forwarded it to my daughters. Think we will be doing it.

I'm doing the wine & dine this year but if this race happens again in 2011 I might just have to do it. I have friends in Harrisburg so it could serve a dual purpose (any maybe I won't need a hotel room :thumbsup2). If anyone does it make sure to give us a report.

Looks like a great race but I have plans at WDW already that weekend- just playing not running though!

Very cool! Wish I could do that and the Wine and Dine. Guess I'll try for that next year!

To repost what everyone els has said.. I am already in the Wine and Dine but I LOVE Hershey and it is so close to home!

Maybe next year I'll plan on doing the ToT challenge and then the Hershey half, that way I get the best of both worlds

I think you mean the Everest Challenge. The ToT race, along with the RFtT race were axed in favor of the Wine & Dine half.

Just booked this race. I've been looking for something new and Hershey in October sounds (and tastes) good to me. Chocolate aid stations and free park admission for family are hard to pass up.

Well if I don't sign up for the Wine & Dine, I may just drive on over to Hershey for this event................:cool1:

Gosh, this sounds wonderful and the prices are low compared to other races. I'll have to keep this one in mind for next year.:thumbsup2

What a neat looking race. DH is biking the MS 150 that weekend so it's not going to work this year but I might talk him into next year.

I had already signed up for the Wine and Dine, but a coworker of mine is going to this one. It sounds like a blast.

Just how hilly do you think this will be? We're seriously considering signing up for this (DH, DD19, and me), since we're NOT going to WDW that weekend. Sounds like a really good deal, but I'm not particularly interested in doing a really hilly half a month before my full.

If you click on the course on the event website, it will take you to MapMyRun. At MapMyRun there is a "Show Elevation" checkbox. It looks like a gentle increase from 364 ft to a max of 479 ft around the 1/2 way point returning to 364 ft.

So.. I halfway jumped. I booked a room at the Hershey Lodge for Saturday night. We can drive up early Saturday morning, have time to pick up our packets, play in the park Saturday night, and race Sunday morning. Only if I actually register for the race, that is. :confused3 Have to talk it over with DH and DD tonight and tomorrow and decide if we want to commit, but yesterday they were pretty definite that it was a good idea. We were already planning to do a half that weekend, just in Greenville (where DD is in school), but this one is a lot more interesting.
