My husband and I currently booked a Cottage at the Hershey Hotel

Where is better to stay at the Cottages or in the main hotel? I looked at pictures online of the rooms in the main building and they looked a little dated and worn.

any opinions or pictures are appreciated

Thank you in advance

Although I haven't stayed at the hotel (since I live very close by), I do go there to have dinner and use the spa. You are on the money about the condition of the rooms, which are a little worn. The rooms are also fairly small, and many complain about noise. The cottages look really nice and with the new expansion, everything is so spread out, it doesn't matter much if you're in the main building or not. Most things are easily within walking distance of each other, and the new pool is equally as far away from the main building as it is from the cottages. The indoor pool is very small and is usually pretty empty.

Have a great time!

thank you for your quick response.

I was originally booked in a queen room in the main building but after seeing the pics of the cottages I decided to go in that direction.

Any other tips for hershey park? This is our first time. We will be there for 2 nights

thanks!

We stayed once at the main Hotel and wouldn't go back. The entire time we were there we kept saying "How much did we pay for this room?" It really was worn and that was several years ago and I don't believe they have updated anything. It kind of smelled old too. muggy almost.

I don't remember an "indoor pool" but the outdoor one here is tiny. It reminded me of the pool at our All girl's high school- small rectangular- it was surrounded by boxwoods I think which was kind of old hollywoody feeling. But it definately wasn't swanky.

HOLY SMOKES! I just looked at the expansion! It seems they updated all areas- except the hotel rooms- the cottages sound beautiful! And that pool! Oh and an ice skating rink! FUN FUN FUN! Now I want to stay there!
I have not ever stayed in the cottages.

On the park- get ready to walk! It's very hilly. And it makes Disney seem like a stroll on the beach. Have a great time!

Like java we stayed there in the hotel not the cottages years ago. We also stayed at The Lodge. I would stay at The Lodge again but not the hotel. The rooms were tiny! I have to have a look at the new additions, sounds great.

Last year we stayed offsite and rented a Cabana at the park, have a look at that it was awesome.:thumbsup2

The cottages are about 100 dollars more a night. it seems like based on what you are saying we made the right decision.

we are going in mid may so I do not know how warm it will be and if it will be pool weather, hopefully it will be! :goodvibes

I love Hershey! Just like WDW, get there early if you can. It's very clean and friendly. Unlike WDW, you can't bring in food, unfortunately.
