Thanks for the information- is there an unabridged edition someplace? Sheila

yikes. the lunch and learns are no longer at the hotel restaurants? that's a shame. was nice to have an event that didn't require park admission (although i don't understand why they don't include park admission for some of these things, seriously.)

is there a l&l lineup somewhere? last year that came out before they opened reservations, which makes sense since that's the one event you are basically buying to see a particular person (although i am in favor of as much info as possible. i hate how close to the vest they play this.)

three l&l's each weekend? that's cool. they were just on sundays last year.

definately cool...3 L&L's each weekend..much better change of getting the one you want this year.

I sure hope a bit more info is released before hand..or the phone lines will be a nightmare on the 20th..can you imagine..these poor reservationists..reading everything to everyone over and over and waiting for people to make up their minds. The hold times will be tremendous.

I have the unabridged edition - but alot of the Chefs are good Old "To be announced" - plus I didn't want to post a HUGE thread. I'm pretty sure that the info is going public tomorrow (ie. the Disney website). If you absolutely CAN'T wait until tomorrow - PM me your dates and interests and I will send you what little info I have..... (I know it would drive me nuts, and I would need the info now ;) ).

2 things amaze me - the number of "Exquisite Epcot" dinners at $185 per person (I know that the reserve dinners sold out last year - but this is a substantially longer list, isn't it?) and the dramatic increase in Food and Wine pairings.

Jim - note that the Exquisite dinners do NOT require park admission (awfully nice of them after paying $185 for the dinner)...and I am also sort of disappointed in the Lunch and Learn's being in the Odyssey- it doesn't have alot of ambience IMHO; but it's not unexpected --- last year at our L&L at Jiko, we were talking with the Coordinator, and she said that it was a huge undertaking to set up the room/cooking area for one L&L. I wonder what they'll do with all of the wine seminars that are normally in the Odyssey during those times??

Yes, I am so excited Cirque de Soleil will be at the party for The Senses.

jill, did we previously determine that we were sitting next to each other at the l&l at jiko? i enjoyed that so much. in fact, two things happened as a direct result of that l&l.

first off, my wife and i went to chicago 2 years ago, and did not have a great time. figured we'd never go back. but as a result of that l&l, i was determined to go back so i could go to tru. we went with some friends and it was terriffic. we made a weekend of dining out of it. we went to rick bayless' topolobampo, charlie trotters and tru. i really like chefs tramonto and gand. their personalities made me want to go back and do that. it was a great weekend. we went about a month ago.

second, and this one may be funnier, last week, some friends of mine were going to roy's restaurant in tampa for their anniversary. i was in the neighborhood that afternoon, and needed to make a reservation for a future date with some other friends, so i figured i'd just stop in. hit me that my friends would be there that night celebrating, so i decided to buy them a bottle of champagne. i looked at the list, and i saw the cheapest was $39. i didn't want to buy them the cheapest, so i go to the next one, and its Roy's house label. and i thought to myself, i wonder if that's by that guy at the l&l. that guy somehow rubbed me the wrong way. so i looked at the next one, which was getting out of my financial strata. so i look at the $39 bottle again, and i see its from northern calif. my friend is from there, too, so i figure i can play it like i really thought about it, and not that i was just buying the cheapest available. well, turns out, the one i bought was from the winery that they used for their wedding toast, and that was their favorite when they toured when they lived out there. if i hadn't been to that l&l and been put off by that winemaker, i would've bought them the wrong bottle, just because it was more expensive. i thought that was a riot.

my early picks on this year's l&l's: i think i'm going to try to go to bayless' on the last weekend, and probably john ash's on halloween. wish gand/tramonto were coming back, tho. i'd go see them again.

Thanks for posting.

Only three signature dinners:( :(

I hope there are dinners for the other weekends. Just no information available.

Jim --- That's too funny (about the Champagne) - and glad you liked Chicago - DH and I went about 5 years ago, and really enjoyed that city. You couldn't have missed me at the Jiko L & L - I was the bald girl in the ballcap (had finished chemo the month before); my sister and I were sitting on the end. I have hair now - so you might not recognize me now however ;) . I am loosely planning on the Bayless L & L too (with Sis again while the DHs babysit). Will definitely be at the Parties for the Senses Nov. 6 and Nov. 13; as the only time my DH can go is that week.

WDW_Dine - times are daily at 5:45 pm, 7:00 and 8:15 pm at the American Gardens theatre in the worldshowcase.

Ed -- Looks like they've upped the number of Exquisite Evenings (the old reserve dinner) and decreased the number of Sig. dinners - hoping we will happily spend an additional $120 per couple.

Thank you for posting this! I just have a couple of questions since it looks like this information came from a different source than what I've seen elsewhere here on the DIS.

1) The Nine Dragons Food & Wine Pairing here implies that the meal is paired with beer instead of wine. Can someone please verify that?

2) Prices here are listed as "plus tax, gratuity included" but the event information on the initial DIS page has the same prices only qualified as "including tax and gratuity". Which is correct?

Thanks in advance for the insight!

I went to Rick Bayless's Lunch and Learn last year, and it was a lot of fun. This year, he's doing Lunch and Learn on my birthday.
Would it seem like I was stalking him if I attend again? LOL!

I did find it funny that I traveled from Chicago to have a Chicago chef cook for me at WDW.

I'm with you, we're there the 19th-23rd - no signature dinner for us? I hope they announce more :(

ImprovGal -- I posted info from a press release - copied and pasted ----- I guess to verify whether it's beer or wine, you'll need to call Disney (I know I would like beer with chinese food - but Disney pretty much never listens to my advice).

As far as prices go - all I can say is that last year, I paid the Event fee PLUS tax, gratuity included ....They also do it that way for other events like the Candlelight Processional Dinner Pkg.---Don't know which it will be for sure - but imagine I'll find out on July 20th!

stalking? nah. just exhibiting good taste.

several years ago i went to a culinary demo with rick bayless and he made turkey with red mole. and EXTREMELY complicated dish, but i've made it twice since. its very, very good. i love his books and his pbs show. we got to talk to him briefly at topolobampo when we went to chicago last month.

jill: i must be mistaken, then. i'm pretty sure i talked (on this board) to the person who was sitting next to me at the l&l. but now i'm wondering if you and i didn't have a discussion about overhearing that this years festival was going to be extended? or maybe it was your conversation and i overheard? i don't remember. getting old, i suppose. i'm not a regular enough on these boards to recall. but if we end up going to the same events, we should say hi this year. we'll know tuesday morning, i guess.
