Here's one for the toilet (pun intended)

So every man knows that the seat and lid must be closed after each use. Though we are not always attentive to the details we understand this wish you women have.

Here is my question: In public bathrooms there are the occaisional comodes that just have the seat, there is no lid attached. If you follow a male do you prefer the seat to be up (indicating that the person before you lifted the seat before use) or the seat back down (where you may think he did the job with the seat in the line of action)?

I think I will attach a poll for us guys to review.

My DS pointed out to me that if he had to put the lid down then I had to put it up to be fair!

i always put it up in case someone else peed on the seat before me, i don't want to be blamed by the next person going in after me.

I work by this rule:
Boys need to both sit down and stand up (and stand up is a preference not an absolute necessity like it is for women) where as women need to sit down. This, therefore, makes 3 votes for sitting, and 1 for standing. This mean SEAT GOES DOWN!!

I always check for wet patches and wipe around the seat anyway. I live with two guys, I don't at my own peril!!

I voted for the seat down because for some reason I always expect there to be icky stuff on the bottom side of the seat. However, I just realized how dumb this is of me because the underside of the seat is probably cleaner since it doesn't come in contact with anyone's skin (a/k/a bum). *sigh* I'm creeped out a bit more now.

I am voting for seat down especially on public toilet seats.
However at home I would say up as I know how clean it is and I live with 3 males so majority rules there.

In a public Restroom I can use my foot to put down the seat so either way is fine plus...(this might be TMI but) I don't sit on a public toilet seat anyway

I always ask my husband how the yellow stains get on the floor under the toilet, right up against the caulk line. He says the dog does it.....yeah she is a girl, too. No, my husband is actually very clean, 2 showers a day, etc. We have no kids....so I know it has to be him.

The girls may have this same problem at their house...I can't be the only one. He never puts the roll of toilet paper back ....or puts a new liner in the trash can. He does however kill roaches Gotta love a guy for that.

I vote down...it is not fun to sit down and the seat not be there at 2 a.m.

I am a squatter unless I am at home, so I don't care really. And if its up I leave it up lol. I dont touch it! I got some nice leg strength from year of squats!!

That is the way I feel on this subject. But the vast majority have voted for "down". And since most of those voters have been women (I am assuming due to the responses) I will put the seat down in the future. If anyone complains I will send them to the DISboards
