We are going to WDW Nov 29 for 6 nights with the DDP so have 6 table svc meals to plan.. Here is what I have in order of how sure I am about it! LOL

1) Le Cellier for dinner (probably the only ts meal w/o the kids)
2) Hollywood and Vine character meal (ds6 REALLY wants to meet Leo and June)
3) The Crystal Palace character meal
4) Room svc with pizza
5) Liberty Tree Tavern
6) between Kona Cafe, Grand Floridian, and Kouzzina. Or even possibly ditch LTT and insert Kona Cafe and either GFC or Kouzzina.

Here's a little about us to help with your input:
we are family of 4 with a 1.5 yo and a 6yo, both boys. 6yo ds has a lot of patience but severe texture aversions with food. 1.5yo ds will eat anything but won't sit still for long. None of us like frou-frou menus that are trying to be pretentious (Citrico's) nor places where you dress fancier (Disney siggie rest). Family style buffets are also out bc of ds6.

Bearing that in mind, what would you do? Kona, GF, Kouzzina and LTT? WHich is worst? Which is a not miss? Was it the GFC where we could watch Wishes from the dining room?
Heeeeelpppp!!! :rotfl:

ETA if you can also think of another ts rest perfect for us, please let me know!!

It's hard to answer your question not knowing which foods your DS has trouble with. I imagine that the kids menus at most of these places are pretty similar anyway. Have you checked them out on Allearsnet?

Out of your options, we've only tried Kona and it was pretty unoffensive. I imagine most people could find something to enjoy here. The Poly itself is worth the visit. We are trying LTT this year and it seems like a good choice for your family too. If you're not into anything exotic, perhaps avoid Kouzzina. It looks pretty authentically Greek. And I don't know much about GFC.

PS - I don't think too many restaurants try to be pretentious. Different folks like different dining experiences. There's nothing wrong with that.

I think most of your ADRs look great! As for your questions concerning LTT, Kouzzina, GF cafe or Kona, here is my take. Kouzzina has a Greek-inspired menu, and if you are more meat and potatoes-types of people who don't like a lot of different ethnic foods, I don't think I'd make an ADR there. As for LTT, without the characters, I don't think there is much to write home about with this restaurant. You can pretty much re-create it at home with Stouffers frozen products. I like both Kona and GF cafe, they are both "less popular" with the Disney fan crowd, so I find them to be a little less crowded and its easier to get an ADR. The food at both is also pretty consistently good and the menus have a wide range of offerings that will likely satisfy anyone.

You can't see Wishes from the GF cafe, but you can go out to the dock or beach and watch both the fireworks and the electrical water pageant.

I can't really comment on the kids meals, but from what I've seen they are all pretty similar. I'm also sure that if you talk to the chef, that they can make accommodations and provide something simple for your son if he is having food sensitivities. I would just be sure to note that on your ADR.

Good luck with the planning!

Your family sounds like us! It is just myself and my mom but we weren't into the menus at Citricos, Boma or any of them! We are not on the dining plan but here is what we lined up:

Arrival day: no ressies. Going to hit dtd and eat there
Day 1: Crystal Palace Breakfast....Plaza lunch
Day 2: no ressies
Day 3: 50's prime time..lunch
Day 4: O'hana Breakfast
Day 5: Spirit of Aloha
Day 6: CRT breakfast
Day 7: Kona breakfast
Day 8: O'hana breakfast (this may get cancelled..but hearing how great the food is I booked this breakfast twice!)
Day 9: No ressies
Day 10: Olivia's breakfast

I am going to add Shula's in somewhere. Probably on 11/3 (and this is because we are meat eaters and did want one nice dinner)

Thanks, everyone!
Mickfan, After a lengthy pm, it wouldnt send as I do not have my "10" posts yet.. boo! LOL

Glad to hear my choices aren't totally off the wall. I hear raves about certain places like Citrico's, flying fish, Yak and Yeti, and not even one thing on the menu appeals to me, and I don't even consider myself picky. But I know if I can't find an entree, my dh and ds would NEVER find something :lmao:

I wasn't trying to be offensive with the pretentious remark, I just mean some restaurants can have "kicked up food" like filet mignon with mushroom gravy and creme brulee for dessert (YUM!) and then there are the ones that serve things like "seared Ahi tuna with a wasabi infused truffle glaze, served with braised haricots verts and chanterelles" kwim? I wouldnt place those in the same category :)

Maybe I should ditch LTT and put in Kona and GF Cafe? Dh and I like some Greek food, I will keep an eye out for Kouzzina's menu :) We also watch Cat Cora on FoodNetwork.

gracie_1, have you seen WGPE 's menu? Looks scrumptious and it's in DTD and is a CS meal. I am all about it, sounds so yummy!

You may want to look over the other threads regarding Hollywood & Vine. We had an awful experience there (8/07) and apparently, that's the standard. Everything there is like a bad/dirty buffet restaurant you might find on the highway. We will never (ever) go there again. Have read many comments like this. I realize you may be stuck with this because of characters, but I wanted to warn you. Sorry.

Been to LTT 3 times, and really liked the food, just not sure if we will go back without characters. Not going this trip.

The rest look good to me.

Oh, sorry.....you may have gotten it now. Just wanted to let you know we will be there at the same time. And I am also going to try for LeCellier on 1st day!!

If you are looking for the menu for Kouzzina, it has been posted on here by a poster who was given all the details over the phone. It's a fairly recent thread that should be easy to find.
