I am just continuing from my earlier post.

Stormalong Bay: Awesome! By far one of the highlights of our trip. It was so much fun for our kids, and the sandy bottom is such a weird feeling! The slide is spectacular, and so is the view from the top. It was never really crowded, no long waits for the slide, and it was very clean. I couldn't believe the number of lifeguards, there were so many, constantly watching everyone. It closed a couple of times due to lightening, but reopened within an hour or so. Part of the lazy river was under construction, so we couldn';t make a complete circle. We brought our own tubes but did not really use them much. I think if I had little kids, I would pay the extra money for the kid side of SAB, it is truly amazing for the little ones, but a great relaxing, tropical environment for adults!

Food services: We ate at Beaches and cream twice, once for lunch on our check-in day, then ice cream later in the week. The lunch was very good, we had burgers and a grilled cheese. The ice cream was the BEST, the sundaes are HUGE! They make a big presentation when the Kitchen sink is served. I will say that they need to make this place BIGGER. It is very small, and since it's the only quick service food place at either hotel, it gets packed very quickly. When we arrived on Saturday, our room wasn't ready, and it was pouring out. They had just closed SAB, and there was an hour wait for a hamburger!! My advice: tell the hostess you will sit at the counter, this made it quicker for us. They also have take-out, but it was craziness in there. I have to say that of all the restaurants we ate in, these waitresses were definitely working the hardest!! WE had a drink and some very HOT buffalo wings in the Martha's Vineyard lounge one evening after the pool. I barelysaw anyone in there for the whole week we were there, which is pretty surprising since it's the only place to get a drink when Hurricane Hannah's is closed. It's sort of off to the side, and I am sure it would be busier if it was near the waiting area for the Cape May Cafe. We did not eat here at all, surprisingly enough, but it was PACKED every night. I think it made the hotel smell fishy. :p

DO NOT WORRY ABOUT THE SCAFFOLDING!!! You will barely notice it. They block off entire wings at a time, so no one has a view of it from their room. It will not take away from the experience you have there, and it was never noisy or distracting. I think they are just painting it.

In general, we really loved this resort. You cannot beat it's location. My kids napped and I walked over to Epcot and shopped in the UK and France for 45 minutes, then just walked back. We took the surrey bikes out twice (Really fun, but hard!), and walked to the boardwalk several times. There is so much to do in that one area. We never walked to MGM, but the boat was great, you really get a different look at the hotels. And, it was never a long bus ride to anywhere since we were centrally located.
We found it to be very clean, and each and every person was truly friendly and nice. I will definitely stay here again. If you have questions, let me know!

Thanks your reports are great...one question...you have to pay something to use the "kid side of SAB" am I not paying enough for the deluxe resort?

Is it a one time fee or daily and do you know what is over there???

thanks so much
denise

No no no!! I'm sorry, that's not what I meant! :o I just meant it's worth shelling out the extra money to stay at this resort if you have little kids and plan to spend a lot of time at the pool. Sorry for the confusion!

Ok thanks for the clarification:p
I have done so much research for this trip primarily on these boards, I couldn't believe that I had missed something like that fact!!!;)
thanks!
