OMGoodness, absolutely the 1BR. I know you really want Boardwalk, but I'd even go so far as to say a 1BR anywhere rather than a view studio (if you can't get Boardwalk), the difference in the room is astounding. Especially since you are used to staying in 2BR condos, you really need to get the feel of the villas, the studios are not really all that different from a deluxe hotel room. I think you have the right idea! Have fun planning!

Definitely a 1 bedroom gives you the true feel of a DVC resort. Personally, I don't book standard view after trying it once, but that's because I truly relax in my unit and spend loads of time enjoying my balcony sipping either coffee in the morning or wine in the evening. For me, it is worth the extra points for a preferred view.

If you do want the standard view, be sure to plan 11 months ahead as those go quickly!

The first time we heard "Welcome Home" and figured out how much we're saving for hotel, transporation, discounts on food and tickets, not eating every meal in the park, having snacks in the room when you couldn't eat another whole meal, having a tv in the living room and one in the bedroom if there's conflict of tv show interest, seeing the beautiful landscaping no matter what room you have (and being jealous), being able to have a little feeling of privacy while everybody else is in the living room, feeding the ducks from the balcony, taking walks to community hall to get a movie or play some games(OKW, SSR), seeing how interesting and unique each resort is, knowing that in five years from now there will be a bunch of new rides, perks, resorts, and services we'll love to experience. DVC has truly become something more that just a room to rent. Good luck with your reservation, I'd keep trying. You never know what might suddenly become available. Some people set up two reservations then cancel one at the 30 day mark. My DS3 wants me to add these.
