Here's A Tip For You ... What Not To Bring Into WDW Parks ...

I saw the Mickey cooler and I really want it, but I can not justify the cost with the shipping. We have a callapsable cooler already, and DH would have a fit if I bought another one. Plus, I just bought the carpet bag and I'm still waiting for the look about that. I am a luggage junkie. I'm always looking for the right bag for the right occasion. LOL (now, if I find it on my vacation this weekend, it might come home with me since there will not be any shipping cost involved.;) )

I do know, and probably so do all of you, that wagons are allowed in the parks. My neighbors didn't know, and they had theirs all fixed up for the day, and weren't allowed to bring it in. They said they were told you couldn't bring anything that had to roll behind you, only that you push in front like a stroller.

Just a heads up, in case anyone didn't know!

My husband carries a Leatherman tool with him all the time. He thinks he's McGyver:hyper:

Last time we were at the parks he had to surrender it and pick it up at the end of the day. Someone even had to walk us to the gate. Had he thought about it, he wouldn't have even brought it but I guess he's so used to putting it on everyday he just clipped it on his belt without thinking.

I've done the same thing...however, I have never had security even question me about it. I usually remember half-way through the day and realize that I shouldn't have put it on!

Whatever you do do not be like me!
I am obsessed with bringing five sets of extra clothes for myself!
The reaction on the faces of the security guard as I go through
the checkpoint by myself and I am carrying for example: 2 pairs of jeans, 3 pairs of shirts, 4 shirts, a jacket, etc.....
My mother thinks I am crazy, but I have a thing with being in control of my situation.....lol.. So I feel the need to pack extras due to rain, Splash Mountain (you can get wet there), food stains on my clothing, etc..... Just whatever you do... be prepared but not TOO prepared...lol

There is therapy for things like that........... :)

Did you mean to say that wagons are NOT allowed in the parks?

That whole bringing a full course meal to the park really urks me. I don't really know why. I have yet to see someone pull out a set of china to serve on.

LOL. I also shared the McGyver thing with my DH and he can relate to your DH. DH says that every man in that point in time wanted to be like McGyver. Oh please!

hate to ask this, but who is McGyver?

is it a disney character?

I had just sent an email to wdw yesterday to ask about this very subject. I have scoured their website and have not found a "list" of what I can or can not bring into the parks.

The majority of parks we have been to do not allow bottles, coolers, or even any food be brought in. Cedar Point, Kings Island

From the boards it seems food is ok, but to what degree? Has anyone seen a list like this?

Also, what about bringing these items with you on the rides? Some intense rides do not allow any carry on's, camera's, or any loose objects. Do these tpe of rides usually have a place to leave bags etc...?

Thanks!

Can anybody tell me how wide a locker is in WDW? We have a soft side cooler. It is basically a square. I don't know if it is too wide to fit in a locker.:Pinkbounc

MacGuyver is a TV character played by Richard Dean Anderson. He could make or fix anything just by using what he had available. Reruns shown on cable.

Here is the response I received from wdw via email:

Small coolers (that one person can carry) that will fit into the lockers are allowed. Coolers will be inspected for glass and alcoholic beverages which are not permitted.

With the exception of food items for guests with specific dietary restrictions, we do not permit guests to bring food and beverage items into our theme parks. Generally, however, plastic bottles for water, juice, etc. are allowed.

Please note due to safety concerns, wagons are not permitted inside any Walt Disney World® Theme Park.

Guests are welcome to bring their own stroller.

Guests are welcome to use personal, hand-held radios (or transceivers, "walkie-talkies," etc.) while visiting our theme parks, provided they do not interfere with our existing radio communications system. We recommend that guests use the approved frequency of between 462 and 463 megahertz.

Also, as a courtesy to our other guests, we ask that communication devices not be used while in our theme park attractions.

So you can bring a cooler but no food to put in it. Sound slike they know what is brought in but just won't condone it. I ususlaly only bring water, juice and a soda for me a caffeine boost mid-day.

Thanks for the info. Maybe we'll just get creative on using our fanny packs for snacks!:smooth:

This may be their official policy, but we have never even made a security guard blink with our food stash. In fact, they usually comment that we've come prepared for famine.

We've spent about 500 days at WDW in the past 10 years, so I don't think we've just been overlooked, either. :)
