Here's a silly question.......Ladies, do you carry your purse around with you...

Or do you use a Hip Pack/Lanyard/pockets or whatever? I can't imagine I would need my purse for dinner/shows etc. What have you done in the past?

I just used my fanny pack when I cruised on NCL. It has several different compartments and pockets.
For formal & semi-formal/Palos nights I have my husband - lol

on our aug cruise I had my purse with me, but transferred what I needed into a fanny pack. when we went to dinner, I would hold the fanny pack under my arm and then put it under the table between my feet. It was easier than lugging my purse around.

Nope, I don't. I carry my KTTW card in a DCL lanyard around my neck, that's all I ever need. It's liberating to not carry a purse, LOL!

I didn't carry a purse on the ship, either. What you do need to have is your key card, so however you are comfortable carrying it is good. I kept mine in a secure pocket.

In the evenings, you might want a few dollar bills for tips for the dueling pianists. There is no requirement to tip them, and many don't, but if you really get into it and make a request or just really like the show, you might want to have them on hand. I didn't have any $$ the first night, but intentionally brough some the second night and put it in their tip bowl.

By the way, during Dueling Pianos, my sister and I asked for and received ice water instead of drinks. We just aren't big drinkers, and didn't want to spend the money. The waitpeople didn't even blink, and didn't seem bent on getting a tip out of us, so the second night I did tip with a little cash.

Nowhere else did we need anything else, though!

I hate fanny packs or bulky purses. I carry a slim, leather (although I also have a nylon one), wallet-on-a-strap that is actually big enough (and long enough) to hold passport, lipstick, ink pen, ID's, credit cards, health certificate, cash, business cards, a few Kleenex, and has an eyeglass/sunglasses (or cell phone) pocket on the outside. I can even stuff more than that into it, but then it gets a bit bulky. The strap is removeable and there is a belt loop also.

No purse. I even brought one, plus an evening bag, what a waste of packing space. I carried my KTTW card in my lanyard, and even tucked in a few dollars when I thought I might need them. Your a few steps away from your room if you need anything.

During the day I had my KTTW card in a lanyard, and a fanny pack with my camera in it, but at night for the dinner and shows I carried a small handbag. It fit my camera, lipstick and dramamine in it. I never went anywhere without my camera, and I did not like carring it around my neck, thus the handbag came in handy

I have a super small back pack that i keep my stuff in as well as cameras, and that works really well for me. In fact, I am trying to get up the courage to leave my purse at home when i go in October.

At night for shows and dinner, I stuck my KTW card in my bra near the strap. I could get it without fuss since the neckline of my summer dresses is not high. I rarely got it out, but if I needed it, I had it and would have taken it out when no one was around anyway. A light tap was all that was needed to reassure me that it was still there. In the daytime I put it in the inside pocket with velcrox closure of my swim shorts that I wear over my swim suit because the legs of suits are always cut too high for thighs like mine.

I bought the CUTEST coach bag!! (black leather) It is really small and has a strap with a hook that you can attatch to your belt or carry as a shoulder bag!!! It will do at the beach or as an evening bag for Palo's!!! I am so stinkin' excited!!!!!!

No purse here either. during the day, I would carry my KTTW card in an ID case in my pocket. If we went on shore excursions it would also hold my DL and a $20 or Credit Card. At Dinner and the show - I just let DH carry it in his pocket. If I wanted to go back to the room earlier than them, I just got my card from him.

Actually, I use my husband. I give him my ID and my KTTW card and anything else I might need. If we are doing something apart from each other, I usually carry my KTTW card on my little DCL lanyard. I LOVE that thing!

NO PURSE! I brought my purse with me and put my wallet in the safe. I carried my drivers licence and key to the world card in a plastic holder that zips shut and attaches to my lanyard.

Beware... once you try going without a purse, you will never want to carry one again! I haven't brought a purse with me on vacation since our honeymoon 12 years ago. My husband can carry my room key and any money required. I don't wear lipstick and once I've done my make-up before going out, that is the way it stays! It is wonderful to walk around without worry about the purse.
We will probably bring a waistpack for excursions.

I used a passporter pouch, I bought it at passporter.com
Its a small pouch with a clear slot for your key to the world card and a few zipper compartments for money and receipts. It also has a place to put a slim lipgloss. The Passporter pouch hangs around your neck like a lanyard! Awesome. I used it at WDW too!
I think it was only 6.95.

Yes, I carry a purse, I wear contacts (gas perm) and I need my solution because I never know when I may need the solution. It is a small purse and on formal nights I sometimes have my DH carry the solution for me. When we go to the beach I leave the purse behind and just use my beach bag. Kathy

I was thinking of going with the hip pouch but now that I think about it.....I don't know what I would put in it! The only thing I would be carrying would be KTTW, license, and a few singles. Guess that is one thing to cross off the list. I'll probably carry my purse onto the ship and then leave it in the room the whole time.

When you are entering the ship, what do you carry your travel docs, birth certificates, etc, in? Do you bring your purse but then leave it in the safe in your room? What do you use for your carry on bag?

i didn't carry anything on the ship or Castaway Cay other than the KTTW card on a lanyard.......my purse was locked in the safe when we were on the ship and castaway cay...

in Nassau - since we were going swimming at atlantis i do what i always do for water parks and the beach.....i have a waterproof fanny pack (that i bought years ago from Lands End) that holds the little bit that i needed to carry (the KTTW, my AMEX card, a couple hundred dollars in cash, our 4 passports)......the rest of my purse stayed in the safe when we left the ship....
