Here's A IDEA FOR the Animal Kingdom....

RFC was sold 3 years ago to Landry's Seafood Restaurants Since that time new management has set out to close all RFC locations that do not meet a predetermined sales mark(we lost 2 of our three locations here in NJ). With that said, and in light of apparant lower sales at this location, it is entirely possible that Landry's has at some point seriously considered closing AKs RFC. It is likely however that the agreement with Disney has been a major stumbling block.

I have to admit to never understanding why they agreed to put two RFCs in the World. My family loves them and we frequent them at least 2 times every trip but it makes no sense to have two. If Landry's really wants to close one down, it seems like an agreement could be reached so one location's sales aren't cannabalized by the other.

I think there should be a sci-fi/fantasy area of DAK built up around SW's forest moon of Endor, have a village in the trees for the gift shops, resturants with suspended walkways not far above the ground, all safe for any guests, a fast ride through the trees say along the lines of a rethemed TT ride, have an Ewok storytelling show. Lots of large redwood looking trees, manmade redwoods of over 200' to show the world the history of these massive trees, obviously its impossible to have a real one but absolutely feasable to fabricate a forest of these, just cover up with fiberglass bark and branches, easier than a shorter wider tree, a nice shade part of the park even.

:D Interesting idea. Why don't you pitch it to Disney so that they can tell you, "sorry, we don't accept unsolicited suggestions" Then, a few years later, they can use the idea, if they like it, and say that it was their idea. It would be a typical disney manuver.

I honestly think Imagineers shop for ideas here and at other boards, no biggiee for me, I have fabricated ideas into working projects for thirty years, millions of dollars sized projects.

But I would never directly give it to Disney, as soon as you do they reject it. Been there, done that.

Working for Disney is also out of the question, poor leadership, bad morale at WDW, and a less than acceptable pay scale.

I will just stay in my area of Alaska and wait, watch and hope.

:( Yea, a less than acceptable pay scale unless of course, you are M. Eisner. :(

Two years ago I was at WDW for 2 weeks scoping out a possible career move, talked to many CM's, was offered a position with the WDW Railroad cause thats a good area of my interest plus my transportation skills as a master mechanic, fabricator and plant engineer. I know a lot about trains, its my hobby.

Sadly though I was discouraged at what the morale was like, many CM's of 5 years or more employment only make minimum wage, if I make less than $50K a year its a slow season, I'm 46, been everywhere and regarded by many as a genius in new ideas, adaptabilty and application.

My current job for the last 8 years has been building up a modern concrete batching facility, my home is almost paid off, no debts to hold me down and living in Florida (in the winter!) is becoming more an attractive idea, from just waiting for the next season in Alaska I am often off work for months in the winter, we only really work 6-9 months a year. Thats the norm in the construction trades.

Further down the road as a semi-retirement job I would consider Disney, but right now Eisner has made a royal mess. Been on these boards for years, don't post a lot but have a wishful dream of becoming part of a better Disney dream, to participate in new ideas and planning, maybe on my next visit this next december.
