My son just got nail polish all over his hands and face and a bit in his hair...I swear he was only quiet for a minute before I realized he was up to something. It was already mostly dry, so washing it off is not working so well. Any ideas about how to get this off of him???? :headache: TIA

I would call the Ped and see if it would be safe to use nail polish remover on his face. I would think it would be safe for hands as long as you washed the residue off with soap and water. Not sure about the hair. Good Luck. We've all been there in some form or another.

I dont know about his face but I would try a little tiny spot of nail polish remover on his hand, get some fo the polish off and wash with soap real quick. I mean I have spille nail polish remover on my hands before and nothings happened but with a kid I would just wash it off real quick GL

I've never tried it, but perhaps baby oil / vegetable oil? It's the best for those temporary tattoos, so it may be worth a shot?

My mom swears by hand sanitizer. She used to work at a daycare and when the kids would get paint or marker all over their hands, that's what they would use to get it off.

My first thought was baby oil. If that doesnt work I think I would try toothpaste. It has a little bit of abrasive in it, maybe that will work? Good Luck. My kids always use toothpaste if they get a KoolAid smile or turn red from popsicles.

Babywipes? They work on ink when my kids decide to draw on themselves with an inkpen or marker.

How old is he? I would think nail polish on his hands would be ok. How much is on his face? If it's not much and his skin isn't sensitive, try the nail polish remover. DD has gotten a smudge on her face. We used nail polish remover and then just washed her chin with soap and water. For the hair try washing it a few times. It will wear off...eventually!

I am so sorry but as th mother of 4 and one of them being a total troublemaker I started cracking up when I read your post. What ever you do DO NOT use a Mr Clean Magic Eraser they cause burning to the skin. Maybe the hand sanitizer would work just make sure it doesn't get into his mouth as it is toxic if like a tablespoon or so is ingested by a small child. We nolonger have it in our house. Honestly, I would have just put a little non-acetone nail polis remover on a paer towel and clened him off and them given him a bath. That way you aren't scrubbung forever. Don't you just LOVE the devious ones! :lmao:

Thanks for all the suggestions...I just washed it off with soap and water over a couple of days. Pediatrician said nail polish remover was fine as long as it was washed off right away, but I just couldn't bring myself to use it on his face. The worst part was my camera was out of batteries so I didn't get a pic...he had it all over his cheeks :rotfl:
