My brother's best man is throwing a Stagg/Staggett party for the bride and groom to be on Saturday night, and this will be a first for me. I think if it weren't my brother, I wouldn't go - just not my thing.... but I'm going, and I'm planning to have fun.... really......... I think I'll let my hair down - just this once! ;) :o :cool1: <---- that's me about midnight. :teeth: (j.k.)

So here's the deal, first - how does this work? Do I bring a gift for one or the other or both?

And once you've answered that, here's the challenge.... I think that I know that this is not the place you bring dishtowels and cake pans SO I could use some help. I am SO not into this stuff, but I want to bring something fun..... I'm thinking fun and clever, NOT something I would be embarrassed to buy (for me, this leaves out a lot), but something not prudish.... you know what I mean? The party is being held at a bar in town (Minnesota small town bar - a different experience for you non-midwesterners), and I'm most certain it will be attended by all of his & her friends. I want something that will fit in, but will be a bit "me" if that's at all possible.

Okay, if you're still with me, please have the closest person to you give you two well-deserved pats on the back.

TIA

Well, lots of choices here.....
Are they going on a honeymoon right away or the day after the wedding?? If so, you could pay for the hotel room for the night of the wedding, before they head out on the honeymoon, or give them a VERY nice hotel gift certificate that would include a dinner maybe, something they could use some other time.

Or a gift cert. to a furniture store or home depot for them to use.

A nice dining out gift cert. Or the best present...why don't you book them a trip to WDW!!!

how about some nice massage oils? Not fru fru Victorias Secret kinds, but good quality massage oil.. (my DH hates fru fru oils!)

Would you be embarassed to buy a nice lingerie outfit? (I'm not talking leather or studs, but classy)

Oh yeah, massage oils, some candles. Bubble bath/bath salts if they like to bathe together. (very cool to do by the way) :teeth:

You could get up the courage and just muster into a "fun" store. "Fun" stores have a great assortment of oils, and candles.
Usually the oils are out in the front, so you don't have to see the rest of the store. (I am not a "fun" store expert, but this is the trend I have seen)

The Body Shop used to have a massage oil that was not heavy feeling and you could add scents too.

hmmm, I don't know how Heidi will feel about massage oils - I know she won't go into a "fun" store Cindy B ;) She's much to shy of a girl for that. I'll go for her ;)

I'm trying to think of something you could give both of them - maybe a bunch of DVDs to add to their collection (if they like dvds of course), a bunch of board games (assuming they don't have any yet).

I bet you could find some tasteful pajamas for both of them that said bride and groom or maybe robes for their honeymoon.

How about seeing if there is an excursion or something fun you can book for them at their honeymoon location?

This is boring, but some stationary, thank you cards, address labels with their names on it?

Like other have said a restaurant gift certificate would work. How about a whole night out basket? Restaurant g.c., movie g.c., some movie treats, a bottle of wine and then the bottle of massage oil. :)

I'll keep thinkin'!

A gift that I did for my Sister and her hubby was a honeymoon gift pack. It was a lot of fun. I wrapped each thing individually with a note. Some things I packed were film, underwater camera, sunscreen, aloe vera, erotic dice (that one I bought at a spencers), a small note pad to write down memories, candles, lotion, first aid pack, small crossword puzzle book ( they were traveling through Europe and figured I'd give them something for the train rides) etc. Most were the small sample size. Whatever you choose, have fun!

If going with a massage oils, make sure that they dont have nut oils in them or make sure that one of them does not have nut allergies a trip to the emergency room wouldnt be romantic. If you are looking for a good quality one I recommend Bio tone, Here is just one site you can find it.
