Most places here have it on the menu or they have a sign outside the place stating that they don't use it. Now I want to go to my favorite Long Beach Chinese place for their lunch special and I want to go to my favorite Northridge Chinese restaurant. We're going up to see our mechanic Monday...oh hey this is sort of pertinent to our meet....
So it turns out that (I'm not sure if I told you) the reason our lift failed was that it blew a fuse. The mechanic figured it out and gave us some new fuses, but it still kept doing it. So yesterday when he was down looking at the lift he said that there were technical problems, he could see evidence that someone had done some welding (we got it 2nd hand on eBay) and there were other flaws. He said the lift was pretty "tired". I told him that we had another one in the garage (Fran had bought two on eBay just after her father died). So we went to the garage and took the box out, even though it was delivered over a year ago, it was still unopened.
Well inside was a brand spankin new lift! It looked like it was never used, and based on the hardware, it was the newest lift we have had since we bought her father a brand new one from the Scooter Store! Mike (the mechanic) thinks he can put it on in place of the old one as long as we're at his house with his tools. So we put it the back of the SUV and we're going up there Monday morning for him to take the old lift off and put the new one on!
So while we're in Northridge, I have two favorite restaurants that I love to get either take & bake or just eat from. Unfortunately we'll probably end up going to lunch with Mike who is a true Italian from Longisland...so we'll probably end up going to his choice of Italian restaurant...which means that I'll go and get take and bake...after lunch. But I really miss those boiled dumplings and scallion pancake...and it's been years since we actually went inside. They have this Family noodle soup with handmade Chinese noodles. It's been YEARS since I've enjoyed those, I would so love to go there and sit down with Fran and have lunch!
