Here now, SO much pixie dust!

I couldn't agree with you more. I just returned yesterday from a quick solo trip (Sun - Wed) and I had the best time. I stayed at POP as well. I didn't realize those were the Star Wars Fireworks. I watched them every night from outside of my room (80's section building 7 looking over the lake). The weather was great, everyone was friendly, my room was clean. I also ate at Skippers Canteen and it was a great meal. Now since I was solo it was really easy for me to use FP+. I used my originally 3 at the MK and then was able to get an additional 4 more before I was ready to head back to my resort. All of the CM's I encountered were friendly, bathrooms clean, even the guests were all pleasant and I had several nice conversations with families while in line/on bus. I was worried when I read all of the reviews but the magic is still there and now I can't wait to plan big family trip for 2017.

Glad you are having a good trip Magpie. I especially hope your family member who is sick is doing well and enjoying the trip. :goodvibes

Thank you for thinking of my MIL! Unfortunately, her doctor says she's no longer allowed to leave the country, so she's home with our adult kids, and a family friend who has come to stay while we are gone.

But, in general, she's doing well. We skype the family every night and she looks happy.

And even if she can't travel abroad, there are other places she can go, closer to home. We're hoping to take her to Niagara Falls this summer (I've been paying attention to how folks accomodate mobility issues this trip, and we're definitely renting her a wheelchair!).

I read a review where a guy said his vacation was ruined - ruined!!! - because the lettuce in his Cobb Salad at Hollywood Brown Derby was shredded too finely.

LOL! so it actually even says in the description "finely chopped greens" people be crazy.

You know, I can go and have a good time at WDW but I don't have to be happy about the price increases, cuts in entertainment, and overcrowding. I don't have to agree with the direction leadership is taking Disney World, I am allowed to have a differing opinion.
ITA. It's not like the two are mutually exclusive.

So, so, SO happy to hear this.
I'm lucky enough to be participating in the International College Program this summer. I've been wishing to work at WDW since I was 15, but lately there's been so much negativity, uncharging, and general gloom that I was getting a little sad thinking that maybe it wouldn't be as magical as I thought. Nonetheless, I hope as a CM this summer I can make other people's vacations as amazing as yours!

So happy for you. It's people like you that make Disney magical.

Disney really seems to be stepping up their game with all the little extra touches this trip. Just the other night, for example, we noticed they were piping in the soundtrack to the Star Wars fireworks on the bridge between Aof A and Pop (nice view there, btw).

Wow, that is so great! I knew you can see the fireworks from Pop because we watched the Frozen fireworks last year almost every night of our September trip (from Pop), but them piping in the music from the show is amazing. I never would have expected them to do that.

This is an older thread. I have no idea if Disney is still piping in the music, but the current Star Wars spectacular has far fewer fireworks to see from outside the park than the previous Star Wars fireworks or the Frozen fireworks.

I think this is shaping up to be one of our best trips ever! Cast members have been wonderful, the busses have been running amazingly well, great conversations with other guests, beautiful weather, reasonable crowds, almost got all my stamps in the Festival booklet, finally did the Tea Garden tour, found great spots to sit and watch the Star Wars fireworks (wow!)...

And we keep running into random clouds of pixie dust!

Just a couple examples: Went to see if the cm at the fire station had either of the last two cards I was looking for. She didn't, but asked if I wanted to trade anyway, so I offered her one of my star duplicates, figuring it'd be a nice surprise for the next person coming along. Behind the card she gave me was one of the party cards, for a party I'd missed!

And the other night, we stopped in at guest services to make a fourth fastpass, only to find the machines down. So we asked the cm at the counter if she could make one for us. Instead, she gave us three, anytime, for our top three choices! Really made the night magical. :)

And there's been more!

It makes me a bit wistful that it will be nearly twenty months before we come back. Disney really seems to be stepping up their game with all the little extra touches this trip. Just the other night, for example, we noticed they were piping in the soundtrack to the Star Wars fireworks on the bridge between Aof A and Pop (nice view there, btw).

It's the little touches like that which make this place special. :)
Awesome! Sounds like one of those magical trips that make us love Disney. We just returned from a pixie-dusted trip, too. Among other wonderful things, we were treated to our first ever free (& unrequested) room upgrade.
:cool1:
