We arrived Saturday, flight landed at 10:00am. This is the trip that has been planned for 9 mos for our 2 children's birthday week. The day before we left my ds7 wakes up throwing up! Seemed better the day we left for a while, but then felt very sick in the afternoon. We are staying at the villas at wilderness lodge. We pleaded to get an early check in just to let our son lay down. Wasn't happening. Son fell asleep in the lobby. Check in time came and went and still no room. Finally got into a room about 5:00pm. We had adr's at 1900 Park Fare for dinner. Son Still didn't feel well. We were waiting for the bday cake we ordered. The server kept saying she would be right out. Took another hour! Really. Then trying to take the boat back to the lodge via MK after dinner, didn't go well either. We waited close to an hour for the boat. Not a good first day. As much as you plan and want it to be perfect....things happen.
Our first park day was MK. My mom and her husband met us just for the day from south Florida. We made rope drop and it was so worth it! Everything was walk on until close to Noon. We ate at Pecos Bills for lunch. It was Packed. While trying to order my son once again felt very sick, and sat down in the middle of the floor. I sat with him fora minute trying to see if he wanted anything, or to go. Back to the hotel. He was upset because he didn't want to go back and miss out. A CM came over to see if everything was ok, I kindly explained that ds wasn't feeling well was all. She was so very kind, went through a list of anything she could bring him. Said he could have anything we wanted at no charge. He tried some apple juice. Then asked for soup. By now a manager came over to us as well and heard son asking for soup. They do not have any. He asks us to wait a few minutes. He then came back with a cup of chicken soup that he had gone to get at another restaurant on Main St. So very kind of both CM's! Truly above and beyond, and such a good example of what Disney is all about.
Day 2 was epcot yesterday, and sadly now dh and I got sick as well. We did the pirates and pals fireworks cruise last night. It was great, sadly, I felt so bad I wanted to be anywhere but on a boat. Want to do it again someday.
Today is supposed to be AK... But we have had a change of plans with dh and I not feeling well, we are having rest day and pool day for the kids.
No matter how much you plan.....something's you just cant control, and you must accept it and either go with the flow or let it ruin your vacation.
