We arrived Saturday, flight landed at 10:00am. This is the trip that has been planned for 9 mos for our 2 children's birthday week. The day before we left my ds7 wakes up throwing up! Seemed better the day we left for a while, but then felt very sick in the afternoon. We are staying at the villas at wilderness lodge. We pleaded to get an early check in just to let our son lay down. Wasn't happening. Son fell asleep in the lobby. Check in time came and went and still no room. Finally got into a room about 5:00pm. We had adr's at 1900 Park Fare for dinner. Son Still didn't feel well. We were waiting for the bday cake we ordered. The server kept saying she would be right out. Took another hour! Really. Then trying to take the boat back to the lodge via MK after dinner, didn't go well either. We waited close to an hour for the boat. Not a good first day. As much as you plan and want it to be perfect....things happen.

Our first park day was MK. My mom and her husband met us just for the day from south Florida. We made rope drop and it was so worth it! Everything was walk on until close to Noon. We ate at Pecos Bills for lunch. It was Packed. While trying to order my son once again felt very sick, and sat down in the middle of the floor. I sat with him fora minute trying to see if he wanted anything, or to go. Back to the hotel. He was upset because he didn't want to go back and miss out. A CM came over to see if everything was ok, I kindly explained that ds wasn't feeling well was all. She was so very kind, went through a list of anything she could bring him. Said he could have anything we wanted at no charge. He tried some apple juice. Then asked for soup. By now a manager came over to us as well and heard son asking for soup. They do not have any. He asks us to wait a few minutes. He then came back with a cup of chicken soup that he had gone to get at another restaurant on Main St. So very kind of both CM's! Truly above and beyond, and such a good example of what Disney is all about.

Day 2 was epcot yesterday, and sadly now dh and I got sick as well. We did the pirates and pals fireworks cruise last night. It was great, sadly, I felt so bad I wanted to be anywhere but on a boat. Want to do it again someday.

Today is supposed to be AK... But we have had a change of plans with dh and I not feeling well, we are having rest day and pool day for the kids.

No matter how much you plan.....something's you just cant control, and you must accept it and either go with the flow or let it ruin your vacation.

sorry you are having a rough start to your vacation.

pixiedust for you all to feel better and enjoy your trip...

Its always a sad thing when our best-laid plans go up in smoke due to unfortunate events, such as getting sick...but kudos to you, your family and the CM's who all appear to have tried to make the best of it. I wish you a speedy recovery so you can enjoy your trip to the World! Pixie dust coming your way!:wizard:

So sorry you're all not feeling well! There is a 48 hour stomach bug going around up here (New England). We've each had a turn w/ it this past week. Hopefully you will all be feeling better soon.

Glad you are making the best of a difficult situation. Thank goodness for the pools so you can let the kids play while you and hubby recoup. Hope the rest of your trip turns out great! God bless those CMs.

I'm so sorry, but you sound like you have just the right attitude about the whole thing and the trip will still be a success because of that. Good for you!:goodvibes

Oh no. I hope you all start to feel better real soon. Very nice about the CM going to get some soup :thumbsup2

So sorry you are having an illness go through the family :( That's always the biggest pre-trip fear. I hope you and DH feel better quickly. Happy to hear about the great CM's at Peco Bill's though/

Sorry you all are sick, but it sounds like you're making the best of a bad situation! Hope the rest of the trip is much better.

My prayers go out to your family. Hope you all recover soon and have a great rest of your vacation.

This is my fear realized. Our DD has been bringing home illnesses every other week from preschool all year. We are actually taking her out of school a few days ahead of time to try to avoid illness during vacation if possible. I really hope the rest of the trip gets better for you!

Oh no! I really hope everything gets much much better for you! pixiedust:

Am I the only one that isn't happy that this family took a sick child through the parks and restaurants? Obviously what the child had was contagious since now both parents got it, and spread his germs around.

These things happen whereever you are, unfortunately you had to experience it while in Disney. My son had bronchitis while we were there and it slowed us down quite a bit, I just had to convince my husband that we'd have to go back to WDW again that's all! I hope you guys feel better.

And seriously, kids (as well as adults) get sick, it happens. To the above poster, get over it. unless you don't want to leave your house, germs are out there anywhere you go! It's not like they had Ebola!

This is why I took hundreds of Wet Wipes with us this past trip. We used them after every ride and washed our hands and used them before eating. I even used Clorox wipes at the counter service tables. I may be a germaphobe but I dealt with the stomach virus at WDW and it was horrible. I hope the OP and her family feel better soon.

:grouphug: BIG HUGS to all of you !! I really hope the rest of your trip goes better. I'm so sorry that you're all under the weather. Hopefully, a little pixie dust will make the rest of your week better!!! :grouphug:

I totally thought the same thing!!

I am sorry your DS was not feeling well, but if I read correctly he went from vomiting one day, getting to WLV the next and you all "pleading" for a room so he could lay down. Then the same night you took him out to dinner?

I know kiddos get sick, but if a kid is vomiting or has an upset stomach they need to be in the room resting and recuperating.

I am sorry you all seem to have caught it as well-I hope all of you feel better and can enjoy the rest of your trip.
