Here now....reporting in

We were at POP June 1-5th in 60's preferred pool view and had no problem with noise ( and we're light sleepers) and our thermostat was chilly, but good. Luck of the draw, I guess.

We just spent six days here and are leaving today. Our best day weather wise was Monday. Two days we were rained out in the afternoon. Yesterday was awful heat and humidity wise but after the rain went through it was 77 and MK had low crowd levels yesterday and we basically walked on everything we wanted to. I had a lot of FPs expire because it was the same amount of waiting to just walk on. Had an awesome night. HS had moderate crowds on Friday as well.

We tried a few new restaurants with the Rainforest Cafe being a new favorite. CP has renwed itself in my eyes as I thought the breakfast was ok but better than dinner. The low point of the week was the crowds on our AK day and we got rained/stormed out that day and we tried the Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party and did not like it at all.

The CMs have been great for the most part Beast danced with DDs at BOG restaurant and DDs got to dance with Prince Charming at 1900 Park Fare.

We had a great trip but are very exhausted.

If it were my special needs child (just being hypothetical here), I'd say, "I'm SO sorry." Not try to reprimand the innocent guest instead of my own child? I mean... just wow. Special needs or not!

Yeah this. The kid said, we need ketchup and proceeded to take ours, sticking his finger in it and all. Then helped himself to a fry for his ketchup, followed with a grin. His dad was busy on his cell phone until we said something.

We visit Disney several times a year and have stayed at all of the resorts from Value to Deluxe. Last year we tried the POP and asked for a upper floor in the back away from the pool. We were given a room on the 4th floor in the 50's section and it was as qreat. Close to the Main Building, but away from the noise!

Sounds a lot like the kid of a friend of mine. I love my friend, but when her kid does stuff like this, she and her husband think it's cute... People kill me.

Sorry you're having a bad time at Pop. We stayed there last year but were in the 50's section by the lake. It was very quiet but (to me) a long hike to the main building. Maybe it just felt that way because it was early August...lol. I was thinking of booking preferred when we stay there again, but you've got me rethinking that.

My niece and nephew are here with us too. They Crawl under bars or ropes and then come back. While eating at a signature restaurant to get up and walk around the table and hug everybody 10 times, One of them even got up and sat on the table at Narcoossee's to talk to her mom ....And my sister-in-law and her husband think nothing of it. They are six and seven. So you could say they are rude guests too. Quite honestly I get embarrassed sometimes. My in-laws don't see anything wrong with it either. My children do not behave this way, Never have.

I also wanted to say that way have not ran across any inconsiderate ECV users. Really the worst part Is the people pushing manual wheelchairs. So being that it's very busy while we're here I would say don't really pay attention to all of those nasty threads.

Or a dad being protective of his special needs son.

Are you kidding me? Even if the child has special needs, he has no right to touch other people's food. If his special needs are that significant, dad should be "protecting" him by keeping him from doing something that is unacceptable. I think the OP had every right to be direct. OP paid for the food!!!

Special needs or not doesn't give anybody exception to put their hands in a strangers food. If you know your child has a special condition and needs to be watched, then watch them.

Not to hijack the OP's thread, but curious what you didn't like about the dessert party-? Booked our first time there for our July trip. Have read so many favorable & repeat reviews I'd like to hear your experience. Thanks!

This can go both ways. It's not exactly easy to stop a manual wheelchair on a dime when inconsiderate walkers dart in front of you. Hmmm...two sides to every coin.

Sorry but she didn't cross the line special needs or not. Just because someone has special needs doesn't mean you ignore bad behavior.

Thanks for the mini-trip report. So glad I decided against the PoP. I need quiet in a hotel room.

Thank you for saying that, you are exactly right .

Just returned. Yesterday I saw a 40 year old woman run over her 12 year old son with a SAR (wife likes the term "scoot a round" better). Odd what happens when neither child or mother is paying attention.

Amen!!! So sick and tired of this disgusting entitlement mentality. Dad should have been responsible for his own child. I would have spoken up as well.

Perfectly said!!!

We are here now too, we added an extra day at the beginning of our vacation at pop and we all hated it. It is a very basic motel, I especially did not appreciate the fact that you don't even get pool towels....also our room was not as clean as it could be, we even found a couple of dirty shirts in our room. Not to mention with the crazy heat not even having any cover over the bus stops isnt nice. I will not stay below a moderate anymore.

We moved to wilderness lodge villas for a couple days which was nice, and now we are at boardwalk which we really love so far! The key to summer touring is definitely to give up on the parks in the afternoon, enjoy mornings and evenings and go to your resort for the afternoon.

Thank you so much for letting me know. We are here for 4 more days, so I will call now. :)

I hope it works. I can't sleep if it is too warm!

I can't believe the child's father. That is crazy.

We have an ecv user and we've been hit by others. I hope none of your crew has been injured. They are hard to stop. Both drivers and other patrons need to watch out for one another and make good decisions and apologize when you screw up!
