Here now. Random thoughts so far

Hi. This is our first time coming during a school break. It's much more crowded than we are used to, but we are still finding it manageable and having a good time.

Spent yesterday at DHS. Got everything done we were interested in doing. Couldn't do star tours multiple times like on past trip though. At 1:00 pm attempted 4 th fast pass and could only choose between muppets, fantasmic, and beauty and beast.

Staying at Caribbean which has been nice except housekeeping seemed to pass us by yesterday. Is that normal for them to skip a day?

We really liked have the bus schedule posted at each bus stop.

Star Wars launch bay was good. Have some items to trade with the jawas. My daughter loved that. Chewbacca meet and greet was very good. Kylo Ren was awkward.

Ate at spice road table on sun for first time. It was delicious. Best meal of trip so far. Though, if we weren't on dining plan, it would have seemed pricey for the portions.

Not thrilled with child meal plan for my vegetarian daughter as far as the quick service is concerned. Dessert choices are lame compared to the adults as well.

Darth Vader cupcake at studio catering co. Was very good.

We had good luck with Toy story fast pass, but holy cow the line for that fast pass was unbelievable when we got out of the ride. Can't imagine what the wait was even with a fast pass at that point.

I haven't been to DHS under the new FP yet. Why do they have a FP for these two, especially muppets?

Didn't realize it was a school break! We get there tomorrow, can't wait!! Glad you're having fun! Weird that housekeeping skipped you...and nice to know CBR has bus times now!

Spice Rd is great, though the sizes are small, we enjoyed eating there in Oct but didn't eat much since we'd been f&w'ing all day. I'd never thought of a child vegetarian at the parks, and that is a very big problem! most meals are chicken nuggets or uncrustables! I hope you find some more options later on!

No, the ride wasn't down. There was a 90 min standby line and the fast pass line was just as bad.

It was late afternoon, we had an ADR at 4:15 and our fast pass was from 2:55 to 3:55.

Little inexpensive trinkets. They like shiny. I had found Star Wars erasers at the dollar store, about 20 in the package. We were able to share with some kids. Have gotten a c3po, a birthday button, a small car and the like in return.

I think the FP line moves at about a 10:1 ratio vs. standby.

This is only going to get worse with basically half of that park shutting down for the new land construction projects.

I think they've increased the number of FP+ available in each time-frame. Our latest trip we spent quite a bit of time in lines just to scan in to the FP kiosk, even though we didn't return right at the beginning of our window.

Complain about the FP+ line.

Our fellow Disney diehard family friends told me a helpful bit of info... if Disney transportation gets in the way of using your FP+ (i.e. a bus never shows up or comes too late,) they'll often work with you to get you a new FP+. Your situation was different, but it wouldn't hurt to complain and see where it gets you. I'm not a believer in complaining just to complain, but I also understand how tough it is to get a FP+ for TSMM. If you don't get to use it, it's like having a golden ticket go to waste.

Go to guest service, show the picture you took, explain that you waited but had to skip because of a dinner reservation and see if they'll work with you.

Hi. We had a good day in MK despite several ride closures. Got some back up FPs to replace. Line at kiosk was slow - here's a tip, use your finger nail and not the surface of your finger on those.

But, we had our choice of 4th FPs at 1:30. Mountains were still available. Didn't try for a fifth.

Regarding JawAS - they won't trade for food it seems so don't try candy, etc... Stickers, anything shiny, trinkets seemed to work. Pencils too.

When we were there in late January, the FP line was just like that. In fact, it was like that at a lot of FP lines. It seems like no one knows how to use them. The line is actually long to scan your magic band, but you move far in after scanning your band.

Do the Jawas just randomly wander around? How do you let them know that you want to trade?

I've been noticing this as well, not just for TSMM. I had to wait about 15 minutes just to scan my band at the first FP+ scanner for Haunted Mansion. It wasn't too bad once I got through all the check points. The posted wait time was 50 minutes so it did help me but not as much as it could have.
