Hey guys. We just got her last night. Woke up and it's raining. :( I have been in August before and know there is a chance every day. But the rain chances are above the normal it seems.

We are getting a late start due to the drive and amount of traffic we hit last night.

Today was our animal kingdom day. Will it be different in the rain? Meaning..Will all the rides run? I have a safari fast pass. Will they still run that if its pouring?

I have hoppers. But I'd did make fps at mk and dhs for other days. So I don't want to change our I will lose them. But ak seems like not a great park in the rain.

Need advice... I do have ponchos..

We've done AK in the rain and had a great time! The animals are used to the rain so most will still be wandering about. I believe the safari will still run unless there is lightening. Not sure about EE if it's raining. Guess it might be the same. Enjoy the op indoor shows although you might want to take a light sweater as the AC indoors works well and if you're wet you might find it chillier. Enjoy! Rain is better at Disney! ☔

I wasn't sure with the safari...didn't know if it would be too muddy

We had our best ride on the safari after it rained. All of the animals were out and active because they were enjoying a little cool down from the heat. It was the best ride we've ever had.

Safari is great in the rain. Just don't do EE in the rain......even the sprinkles hurt!

Yes, I agree on the Safari right after rain. On our last trip, we rode it fast pass one morning and our driver told us rain was predicted later and if we were still in the park to come back and ride. We watched the parade in the rain and as soon as it was over, made a dash to the Safari ride. It was awesome. Animals right by the vehicle. Lions actually roaring and running around. Use the hourly forecast if you have a phone, it will help.

The rain will get a lot of the animals moving afterward, but many will hunker down during it.

weather.com is pretty good and you can get hourly forecasts. Looks like its going to rain until about 3:00pm

Weather.com is fairly good, bur remember that they are all just weather guessers. I live 3 hours to the north and we usually share the same weather patterns. You can expect a good bit of rain today but tomorrow should be nicer(cloudy but not much in the way of rain) and Wednesday will be really nice.

Any particular weather website is the most accurate?

Fox 35 Weather App is pretty good. Never fails me during our Disney vacations. I live in Connecticut but I'm always checking it to see how the weather is. As I look at it right now, there seems to be a big system from Orlando and west to Tampa and into the Gulf of Mexico. I am no weather man but it looks like the rainy/cloudy weather may be around for a while. Hopefully it's a fast moving system and the weather gives way..... Good luck and enjoy the rest of your trip!

Rain each day is almost a given in FL in the summer. Sometimes it rains the majority of the day as scheduled today but other times it's just a quick shower in the afternoon. The first time I was thinking it was going to affect our entire trip negatively until I realized it's often just quick downpours and those cool things off. enjoy your week!

PS - Now I'm hoping we have a chance to ride Kilimanjaro Safari after some rain!

You gotta understand rain in Florida is like nowhere else I have ever been. It doesn't just rain everywhere at the same time. It rains in little cells. It can be raining cats and dogs at my house and clear as a bell at WDW. Rain generally doesn't last very long either. So don't try and plan for the rain. If it starts raining on you just find an indoor activity for a while. I actually saw Noah building an arc this morning on the way home.

We are use to rain in Florida this time of yr. Our 1st full day here was Friday. I have to say I'm tired of being wet. These have not been your passing showers. We got caught in a torrential downpour on the safari last year and it was awful. It was raining so hard we couldn't see anything. Now after the rain is great. We had issues w/ fast passes and rain closing things last year at all parks and not getting to do stuff and it wasn't this raining. Good luck! We are in the rainy trenches w/ you.

There has been above average rainfall this summer in Florida…look at Tampa, who got over 9 inches of rain in a 24-hour period last week!!! As I sit here in Fort Myers, it's pouring down rain.

With that said, the Safari is fantastic during the rain. The animals love a good rain shower!

And the other bright side: You can ride Kali River Rapids with no fear of getting (any more) wet! :)

on our last visit, we had one day where it rained all day. We went and visited all the deluxe resorts, even AKL and WL. Had a great time.

Thank you all so much! It has been great so far. Rain stopped to light drizzle when we got here. We used fp for Everest and then they went right back on with single rider. The rain stopped. Its overcast and not to hot. Safari was very active. It has been awesome
