Here now, need advice on planning

How crowded does it get for the first Pixar Play Parade? I’m wondering when we should get a spot. Is there anywhere to sit in the shade?

My husband is here for work and can only meet us at night. My daughter is too short for the Incredicoaster (and I would never go on it!) so I need my husband to take him. The tricky part is of course that I’m not all that sure when he will arrive so I need to make sure to schedule him enough time. Since he’s meeting us and not signing in until nighttime I can’t buy and schedule him MP right? No one looked at any tickets today when we MP. At one point I made a MP for the three of them to go on Goofy’s (cause I’m a wimp) and no one cared that I scanned them in and left. Can I make a MP party for my son and me and scan them onto the ride? What time should I plan to MP by if I want a window around 6-7?

The only ride DS really wants to do is Guardians. Same problem. What time to MP by for a 6:30-7 window? There is a small chance that DD will decide to do it and I’ll feel like I should try it to. If I try to MP all 4 of us after he scans in sometime after 5 would it be too late?

His ticket will have to be scanned in at an entrance gate in order for you to book MP. As long as you don't want to book a different MP for you, then just book the Incredicoaster MP two with two of the tickets that have already been scanned for the day. Then just make sure your DH and DS have those two paper tickets to scan in for MP (Personally, I find it easier to scan in for MP with the paper tickets vs on the app).

We usually grab a spot for PPP in front of the King/Queen restrooms an hour-45 minutes before the first parade. 2nd parade, we grab a spot in front of the fire station when they rope it off about 20 minutes pre-parade. Prime viewing, short wait (but that’s when the parade starts at Main Street; it’s not as good coming the other way).

Those bathrooms are behind Alice in Wonderland, facing Matterhorn. It’s nice and shady there. I’ve been able to grab a spot there about 30min before the parade starts, coming from Small World towards Main St.

The first parade starts at Small World. 2nd starts at Main Street.

The area in front of the fire station doesn't get roped off until usually about 20 minutes pre-parade. They leave it open for traffic. So you can get there and grab a spot much later than everyone else in the area may have been waiting. But if the parade starts at Small World, it's not such a great spot because the view isn't as good, and you have to wait forever for the parade to get to you.

The area by the Alice bathrooms is nice because there's no one across from you, so you get the performers' full attention. That's our go-to for parade #1.
