Just wanted to update for all those worried about the weather! For reference, we are traveling as a party of 5...DH, myself, DD6, DS5, and DS 4 months. We had a double stroller and the rain cover has been helpful. We all wore Chacos and well fitting rain jackets (no ponchos). This is our 3rd trip.

Yesterday, Sunday, they were calling for 80-90% chances of rain. It did rain a lot but we were able to have an awesome time at AK. Animals all over the Safari, cool breeze, and plenty of time without rain as well. We walked on almost every ride. Photopass photographers were hit and miss due to the rain. DS5 got to ride FOP 3 times between scheduled FP and short line during EMH with a rider swap. We even gave one FOP rider swap away bc we were leaving.

Hopped to Epcot had just a little rain at the end of the evening, even though chances were fairly high.

Today, Monday May 21 at MK. Calling for high rain chances all day again and while overcast we’ve seen a light sprinkle at most. Cool breezes blowing through. Heavy looking clouds at times but nothing. Ride lines are normal/manageable.

Like I mentioned, we are doing this with a family in tow and have made it great! Yes, some of our pictures are a little disappointing, everyone wants the cute sunny pictures in the cute outfits. But since we’ve been before and will come again. We are loving the low crowds!

Thank you so much for the live report - If you have time, keep us posted. I'm one of the ones worried because I'm coming over the weekend for a 2-3 day visit.

We are headed that way later this week with a couple other families....We are determined to make the best of it but I am a bit bummed that our trip pics may not be that wonderful this trip. But at least we will all be together!

Thank you for the update! We will leave Wednesday to had down for a week and the forecast looks terrible. I'm trying not to stress too much about it. This definitely helped! Thank you & have a great trip!

I definitely echo the original poster’s thoughts. We were at MK today for our first day and it was great. The cloud cover was a plus and made for a wonderful evening. We finished the day double mountaineers and it was my kids’ first two trip on Space Mountain. :cool1:

I agree the crowds were very manageable today. Hoping for a continuation the next few days!

So glad you posted this and are making the best of it! That is what we try to do also. We have fitted rain coats for our kiddos too, I think they work better then the ponchos for the all day rain. With four I just purchased the next size up for my oldest and the rest get passed down!! You may not think you have the best pics, but one of my fave pics of our trips we are all in rain coats at AK and smiling!! I also have some pretty awful pictures at MK when it was sunny and hot and everyone is squinty and cranky!!!

Thanks for the report!

It sounds like WDW has had low crowds consistently since Easter! So much for the oft-repeated "Disney is always crowded".

Thank you for posting. We are leaving for Disney tomorrow and this makes me feel much better.

We are heading down on Thursday arriving around 5:30 pm. We are only going for the long weekend. I was reading a lot of threads regarding the rain and I would like to point out that even if it says 90% chance of rain, it doesn't mean it's going to rain 90% of the day. I'm trying to be optimistic! I hope everyone has a great time no matter what the weather!! Pixie dust to all!!

I was there May 3-8 and we def had some some busy park days with long ride waits (so glad to have had 60 day FP ability) .... likely due to Flower and Garden show, May the 4th day at HS and Cinco de Mayo but the only thing close to "walk on" rides was during eve emh at MK.

OP here! I’m happy to report that the rest of Monday afternoon went off without a hitch. We even got pixie dusted with VIP viewing of the parade. (Not the same without the dragon though!) A light shower came through right after the parade but was over in the time it took to go through FP at the Speedway. The evening was gorgeous with an almost chilly breeze blowing during HEA. (First time seeing HEA, I still prefer Wishes!) Lol but the kids loved HEA better than Wishes.

Resort day today and we are at POP. Had to move to the 50s pool bc the kids were too chilly in the big pool. Wonderful breeze blowing through and lightly overcast. Chances of rain after lunch. Hakuna Matata!

We had just moved when I first posted. The lifeguard said there was a difference so we moved. After being in it, it might be slightly warmer, but the breeze is so nice today it’s just a bit chilly!
