One of my most favorite pictures at Disney was taken after we got caught in a down pour at Epcot. We are headed there Thursday for a week and I won't let the weather bother me one bit.

Guys, you can always search the parks on Instagram and see real time photos of the parks. Yes there's some rain, but there also looks to be a lot of dry periods interspersed!

I’ve still been in shorts and T-shirts but would get goosebumps! I had a light sweatshirt but had always left it in the room, there were a couple times I Wished I had it. Some of the restaurants have been a little chilly just bc they’ve been running their air full blast even though it’s not terrible outside. We’ve left DS rain jacket on a few times and he hasn’t complained about getting hot.

I told DH tonight that at Disney Springs it felt like sitting at an Oceanside restaurant at the beach in the evening!

Ha don’t worry, it’s still Florida! Not like winter chilly at all! Just occasionally, you’ll get some breezes or walk through a store/restaurant/queue and get cool for a bit.

We find a lot of ways to have a blast during rain. Disney is not a good weather only joint.

Definitely depends on what you are there for. Just the rides?? Get from one to the next - not a lot of issues.
There for the ambiance, nice photos, and enjoyment of the parks as well? Need nice weather!!!

In that respect, except for showers, it is only a 'good weather "joint" for us'. It doesn't bother me one bit if others enjoy themselves there when rains are more constant, actually I'm happy for you - just makes me thankful I'm not there!! Enjoy it however you can!

We went Superbowl weekend 2009 -- our MK day was rainy.... it was like the perfect storm of rainy weather and an economy in the crapper... it was like walking around an abandoned park. I don't remember waiting for anything. I wore a hoodie and jeans since it was winter, but I live in Buffalo so it was nice to me.

My DH always says he wishes he could keep our schedule open so that we can do AK on a rainy day because those have always been our best AK days!

OP back! Today is Wednesday and it is back to Florida in summer! Full sun, hot, muggy, and crowded! All those people who had been hiding out are out in full force. We split up today and so far half of our group did AK with EMH and half did MK. DH took DS5 to rope drop flight of passage. Was on a bus at 7:00 and off the ride just after 8:00. He has never rope dropped a big ride before and said it was a little nuts! We met up at Epcot for FPs and lunch. MK has late EMHs so may go there late. It’s our last park day with a waterpark tomorrow.

What brand/type of rain coats is everyone using vs. poncho? Does rain coat keep your lower half/shorts dry? We've always used umbrella and ponchos in the past.

I think we are only taking ponchos. I can't imagine a rain coat holding out all day and repelling water for that long - but maybe I'm wrong.

Have you seen the local weather forecasts on tv? Just wondering what the local weather people are saying.

Just wanted to update for all those worried about the weather! For reference, we are traveling as a party of 5...DH, myself, DD6, DS5, and DS 4 months. We had a double stroller and the rain cover has been helpful. We all wore Chacos and well fitting rain jackets (no ponchos). This is our 3rd trip.

Yesterday, Sunday, they were calling for 80-90% chances of rain. It did rain a lot but we were able to have an awesome time at AK. Animals all over the Safari, cool breeze, and plenty of time without rain as well. We walked on almost every ride. Photopass photographers were hit and miss due to the rain. DS5 got to ride FOP 3 times between scheduled FP and short line during EMH with a rider swap. We even gave one FOP rider swap away bc we were leaving.

Hopped to Epcot had just a little rain at the end of the evening, even though chances were fairly high.

Today, Monday May 21 at MK. Calling for high rain chances all day again and while overcast we’ve seen a light sprinkle at most. Cool breezes blowing through. Heavy looking clouds at times but nothing. Ride lines are normal/manageable.

Like I mentioned, we are doing this with a family in tow and have made it great! Yes, some of our pictures are a little disappointing, everyone wants the cute sunny pictures in the cute outfits. But since we’ve been before and will come again. We are loving the low crowds!

Thank you for the update. We’ve been to Disney multiple times in the past 15 years and learned not to panic anymore with the weather but some shine would be nice.
