So we got up crazy early and were held at the bag check on the path from royal pacific to Universal until 6. They were moving construction equipment out. We got to the turnstiles by 6:15 and we were 10th in our line. Line few very quickly.

Through the turnstiles at 6:45 and watched people running by us. I am in a wheelchair bc of a broken foot and had my boys with me so we were all just walking. The further we walked slower everyone got.

We approached the line which was about 100 people deep and we were waved over to a separate line for wheelchairs. The looks I got from the runners and people at the front could have killed me. I was more than willing to wait in the regular line but they told me for my safety in the crowd I was to go in first. You better believe that made people mad and they shoved right by us as we were being led i

We got to a point in the line where we broke off from the crowd (there were stairs). The ride didn't go operational until 7:30. We were in the back of the first cars to go in. Again the looks I got.

Just an FYI if you are pooh sized. The opening to the actual rows is narrower than the seat. I felt terrible when a woman couldn't ride in our car this morning because she couldn't get in the vehicle. fit in the seat out front with no trouble.

I saw the same thing when we did early entry on Monday. Way too many runners. We were first at our turnstile but ended up 100 back at DA because of them.

Same thing with us the day after grand opening. I think they need better control over the runners.

I was thinking about doing the EARLY morning thing this week to see how I fare.

Do you think it's worth it even though I'm just a local (so I can't get into the park until 8am).

Is it crazy packed inside for that first hour JUST from people with early access admission by being a resort guest?

Runners should be removed and escorted to the back! Not only are they dangerous but they set such a bad example for younger people/children.

Power walking however is perfectly acceptable.....

I agree. I really don't understand why they're allowing runners. I hope people complain to guest services about it.

Yes, it is crazy packed. We got up early and rode on Tuesday. Even with EE we waited an hour from the time I put my purse in a locker until we got off the ride at 8:00. At that time, the line just to get into DA was all the way back to Men in Black.

While it would require $ of additional staffing & blocking off potential short cuts, why not implement a controlled rope drop walk back? :confused3

imo if U continues to permit what sounds to be consistent reports of a free-for-all dash to the area at gate opening, it's only a matter of time before somebody gets hurt.:sad2:

I'm sure many have experienced the procedure @ MK. System was implemented to avoid this sort of running of the bulls. Surprised U security administration hasn't addressed this since we are such a litigious society.

The runners drive me crazy. I wish everyone would just calm down and be a little more considerate.

They never allowed it at IOA. I can't understand why their policy has changed.

I have been going to halloween horrors for 10 years. Always do finnegans beforehand. When they release us early from the holding area they have always made it very clear-NO RUNNERS! People walked very very fast but if anyone got ahead of the staff walking us to the first house they were stopped so it was very controlled and worked out well..........until last year, they literally just opened the barricade and let everyone go, it was chaotic with people running and pushing past others. I can only hope they get the runners under control soon, that's the last thing I want to deal with so early in the am:scared:

We will see if it helps :thumbsup2... as this CAN get ugly, really quickly! Thats all we need is for our vacations to be ruined because our kids get hurt or like someone said, our elderly grandparents, etc. get trampled ! Some people are just RUDE IDIOTS , and think its EVERY MAN FOR THEMSELVES, regardless if theres kids "in the way" !:scared1:

Go to post #69 to read my glorious day in the sun with the runners.

The day before was much smoother.

I read your story on the other thread. WOW.

And personally, I don't think you went overboard. If I had seen you do that, I would have applauded :) That father setting a bad example for HIS family should have been the one who was embarassed. More people like that guy should be called out, in my opinion.

I think you need to take a religions course, because Karma effects you in the afterlife. You may think you sound cool and smart, but to those of us with Ivy League educations, you look foolish.

*affects* You may need a refund for that Ivy League education!

Well... one of you looks foolish. (Hint - it ain't him)

Let's all play nice people...or points will be given.

Fair warning.
