Why is everyone so hard on people who run? If there is no rule against it and you're not hurting or endangering anyone, what's the big deal?

Part of the problem is that one person runs up ahead and then expects the rest of the family, who doesn't run, to be able to pass by everyone and meet them at the front of the line.
Another part of the problem is that people are running from far back in the back and weaving in and out of the slower people.
I think you need to take a religions course, because Karma effects you in the afterlife. You may think you sound cool and smart, but to those of us with Ivy League educations, you look foolish.

.... but I digress.
), I'm still trying to figure out into which category I belong.
I feel kind of silly responding to your post, but what can I say, I have always had self restraint issues
.
The intent of my Karma reference was not to enlighten fellow DIS board members on the nuances of Buddha's spiritual teachings, but rather, to illustrate the idea that sometimes when one "acts like a horses rear end" (in pursuit of personal gain -at the expense of others), it can sometimes backfire. Lord knows, as a human being, I've been there myself.... but I digress.
At the time, it seemed fitting.
However if you need to get technical, Karma, and the notion of the intent of action, and its effect, does have reference to both the concept of the afterlife, and one's current state of being/conscientiousness/person. To use another example, one might be able to draw a correlation between Karma, and the intent/tone of your response, and its outcome. Just saying ....
Lastly - not that I'm in the business of flashing my resume - I have learned through experience and education, that education, and the various bachelors, undergrad, and doctorate designations that come with higher education can be earned by both a wise man, and a moron. Being a grad from the University of Toronto (ranked #1 in Canada ... in case we're keeping score ... but I guess it is just Canada), I'm still trying to figure out into which category I belong.
See --- that's Karma too.
PS --- I forgot to mention something, I don't think, I am cool and smart ... thanks for reminding me.
It's refreshing to see!"It's" a pet peeve of mine too.I love that at U of T they teach you the proper use of its and it's.It's refreshing to see!

Wow...if you're going to flash your resume to opine how smart you are...ummmmmmmm don't remember hearing university of Toronto being mentioned in same breath as our Ivy League universities. I normally wouldn't respond to something like this but your arrogance is astounding.

) that UofT is ranked number 1 in Canada, and 28th in the world (if this last nugget offends you, please go back re-read point number 2) .....
), but again not an Ivy Leaguer. However my best friend on the planet / best man at my wedding is an Ivy Leaguer ... I may have to ask him to weigh in ....
Woohoo! We never get any excitement on the Universal board!
