Here now gringotts this morning.

Why is everyone so hard on people who run? If there is no rule against it and you're not hurting or endangering anyone, what's the big deal?

Part of the problem is that one person runs up ahead and then expects the rest of the family, who doesn't run, to be able to pass by everyone and meet them at the front of the line.

Another part of the problem is that people are running from far back in the back and weaving in and out of the slower people.

This morning, Universal employees were shouting at people not to run but no one paid them any mind. The couple in front of us in line at the turnstiles took off running as soon as they were through the turnstiles. My friend and I, "traditionally built" ladies in our 50s, walked over. The couple who ran ended up one car ahead of us at Gringotts.

I feel silly stating the obvious- it is a safety and liability issue. First off,the idiots running could easily fall themselves, fall into someone else as they are rudely pushing by others who had been standing in line longer or cause someone else to fall/lose their balance as they are pushing by (accidently of course, I am not saying anyone would deliberately push anyone down). And then you know there would be law suits because they were not stopped or asked nicely to not run. Since they do not seem to be enforcing the no running, this is an accident waiting to happen. Secondly, it is just rude to push/run in front of people who are lined up in front of you just because you can. And lastly, addressing the idiot parents- the kids these days are bad enough about "me first" the heck with anyone else, they do not need their idiot parents enforcing it by leading the run. TPTB should enforce the no running by any means possible including sending the runners to the back of the line. It would only take a week before word got around and it would have the desired effect. Just my two cents!

PS I will now get off my soap box, I believe I have been listening to Pete's rants too long and it is rubbing off.;)

I think anyone with common sense would know it's not sensible to run in crowds.........

It really shouldn't have to be explained to you.

This is my problem with it...We experienced it when Tink and the fairies first came to MK..One Dad took off running and was weaving thru people, knocked my 4 yr old down and kept going without eeven looking back and THEN tried to have his whole family ( 7 of them) cut in front of us ..NOPE.

Got to the park around 740. EE is at 8 today. Currently sitting (literally) in a 180 minute line. The ride has been delayed all morning and they have no estimate for when they will begin boarding guest.

I did see a bit of running but nothing hostile. Then again i wasnt there at the mad dash when they first let people in.

I will say this. DA is overwelmingly beautiful. My heart dropped when i entered. Def a first for me at a theme park. Cant wait to explore!

I think you need to take a religions course, because Karma effects you in the afterlife. You may think you sound cool and smart, but to those of us with Ivy League educations, you look foolish.

I feel kind of silly responding to your post, but what can I say :confused3, I have always had self restraint issues :lmao:.

The intent of my Karma reference was not to enlighten fellow DIS board members on the nuances of Buddha's spiritual teachings, but rather, to illustrate the idea that sometimes when one "acts like a horses rear end" (in pursuit of personal gain -at the expense of others), it can sometimes backfire. Lord knows, as a human being, I've been there myself :rotfl:.... but I digress.

At the time, it seemed fitting.

However if you need to get technical, Karma, and the notion of the intent of action, and its effect, does have reference to both the concept of the afterlife, and one's current state of being/conscientiousness/person. To use another example, one might be able to draw a correlation between Karma, and the intent/tone of your response, and its outcome. Just saying .... :wave2:

Lastly - not that I'm in the business of flashing my resume - I have learned through experience and education, that education, and the various bachelors, undergrad, and doctorate designations that come with higher education can be earned by both a wise man, and a moron. Being a grad from the University of Toronto (ranked #1 in Canada ... in case we're keeping score ... but I guess it is just Canada ;)), I'm still trying to figure out into which category I belong.

See --- that's Karma too. :flower3:

PS --- I forgot to mention something, I don't think, I am cool and smart ... thanks for reminding me.

I love that at U of T they teach you the proper use of its and it's. :rotfl2: It's refreshing to see!

Haha they just announced that the ride is operational and everyone drowned out the PA with applause. Some guy started a Harry chant. Ptetty spirited group despite the ride breakdown.

Wow...if you're going to flash your resume to opine how smart you are...ummmmmmmm don't remember hearing university of Toronto being mentioned in same breath as our Ivy League universities. I normally wouldn't respond to something like this but your arrogance is astounding.

I think it was supposed to be tongue in cheek.

1 - You're serious right?

2 - Sarcasm and whit --- I know .... it's high brow humor ... but try and follow along.

3 - (& most importantly) - Flashing my resume??? Flashing my resume!!!???? I was accused of using the theme of Karma improperly in my post -- by someone who implied that, had I gone to an Ivy League school, and taken the appropriate curriculum, I would have known better. Had I used Karma incorrectly, I'd argue that, as rude as they were, they would have had a point -- but since the term was used in its proper context they had NO GROUND TO STAND ON, let alone take pot shots at me, when they in FACT THEY were wrong. Did you miss that part of the story? You know, the important the part. :lmao:

4. Lastly, the UofT grad thing ONLY came to the forefront, because my INTELLIGENCE was being questioned within the context of my education. Did you not read the original post? Normally I don't go out my way to tell a bunch of people on a message board what school I went to ..... it's usually not that relevant on the Dis Boards, but after going through this exercise, I'm think IQ tests might be .... nah, let's forget I mentioned that ;).

..... speaking of which, I read on the internet (so you know it must be true:laughing:) that UofT is ranked number 1 in Canada, and 28th in the world (if this last nugget offends you, please go back re-read point number 2) .....

PS - I spoke with my wife, she concurs that I am in fact, smart and cool ... but then again she too is a UofT grad, all be it, an Honor's grad (so technically she even outranks someone as arrogant as me :dance3:), but again not an Ivy Leaguer. However my best friend on the planet / best man at my wedding is an Ivy Leaguer ... I may have to ask him to weigh in .... :rotfl2:

I totally understand your karma info, however I go by a simple rule, which I have worked hard to teach my children, do onto others as you would have done to you! I would never run, cut in line,or be rude to obtain a 5 minute lead on another person. My daughters and I are both petite and I have lost count of all the times people have pushed us or stepped on our feet to get closer to an attraction, it stinks. The good thing, however is we have been able to enjoy US and IOA how we want to and we are so hoping when we go in Nov. this year we will be able to ride Gringotts. We will not be running or pushing ahead of people to do it though!
