Hi all- We are here now. Arrived yesterday and did DL this morning. We were there for Rope Drop... Rode Pan, Mr. Toads, Pinocchios, Star Tours, Buzz, Big Thunder Mtn, Pirates, Haunted Mansion, INDY (with FP), kids and DH did Treehouse while I got FP's for Soarin at CA. Then we met at Big Thunder Ranch for lunch.

Now after lunch I let DH and the kids go back to the hotel (it's 2pmish then). I grabbed Buzz FP's and then went back to CA to get Soarin FP's again. The Soarin FP's I am holding read my next avail FP time to be 2:10. I tried at 2:20 up until 2:30 and it kept telling me my next available FP for that ride was 3:45.... I don't get it? Could I have gotten FP's then for something else in CA?
So confused!!!

Anyway... we are going back in a little while to use our FP's (Buzz, Space, Autopia, Soarin) ...

Our plan tomorrow is to hit CA pre-opening to ride TSMM and to get Soarin FP's. When I want a 2nd set for Soarin tomorrow do I have to wait until after the FP time comes??

Kids don't want to ride any other FP ride in CA.

You can't have two FP's for the same ride until your FP return time. Since you already have a Soarin' FP, even though your window to get another FP is up, it has to be a different ride.

ETA: I explained in my later post about the 2 hour thing!

WOW. That's what I figured as it was happening.... is it like that in WDW too? Either it's not, or I never tried to get back to back FP's for the same ride before.

Thank you!! At least I know not to make that same mistake tomorrow.

???? ~ we always collect multiple FPs for ride ~ Space, Thunder most common. So long as your next available FP time is up you should be able to get a FP for any ride you want, even the ride you got a FP for previously....

Oh sorry, I'll clarify. For FP, you can get one for another ride at the end of the window OR after two hours have passed, whichever comes first. You can't have two FP's for the SAME ride until the return time on your FP is up. So, let's say you get a FP at 10:00 AM that says to come back at 2:00 PM, but that you can get your next FP at 12:00 PM. You can get a FP for any other ride any time after 12:00 PM, but you can't get one for the SAME ride until your original FP time is up, which would be 2:00 PM.

That is what was happening... I think. I forget the exact time of the FP. But lets say it was with a return time of 3:25 - 4:25 and at bottom it read "Your next FP is available at 2:20." So at 2:20 I go to the SAME ride to get another FP,but it kept telling me my next FP for this ride is not available until 3:25.
If I went to a different ride to get a FP at 2:20 I could have gotten one.
This would make sense after what happened to me today.

Not to change the subject but here's my question, how were you able to get FP's for your family while they were in another park? If I'm reading this correctly, your family was in the Treehouse at DL while you went to CA and got Soarin FP's, is that right? I know this used to be possible, but I was under the impression you could no longer do this?

Sorry if my question is silly, I have not been back to DL in several years.

Once the park hopper tickets are scanned at one park, then the park hopper tickets are activated for both parks. (At DLR, remember to get your hand stamped when you exit one of the parks. They might want to see the handstamp when you return.)

HydroGuy wrote about this in the following thread:

Thanks for the info S. S. Columbia. This is exactly how I did it myself back in 2007, I just thought the rules had changed because of something I'd recently read (perhaps that person was thinking of WDW, where this is not permitted, instead of DLR). As the FP runner for my family, I'm very glad to hear this is still allowed!
:thumbsup2

So does this mean that I can get a fast pass in DL....send my family on a ride while I run across to DCA, get a fast pass there and then return to DL getting a fast pass even when the time on my DCA fast pass isn't up yet? Does that make sense?

Yes and yes.

DL's and DCA's FastPass "networks" are not connected. :thumbsup2

And the FP machines for Roger Rabbit (RRCTS) are usually not connected to DL's FP network (you don't have to wait for your previous FP's Return Time in order to get a FP for RRCTS).

That's awesome! I can't believe that I never knew this...after years of reading these boards and ten trips to Disney! You learn something new everyday, now I totally want to go there and try it out!

Not only that, but as SS Columbia mentioned, the two parks systems are not connected. So while you're waiting for the next return time you can get another FP in one park, the time is also passing in the other park. Doh! Did I say that right? Anyway, you know what I mean. If you time it right you can have a pocketful of FP's before noon for BOTH PARKS and enjoy very little waiting during those busy afternoon hours.
:lmao:

We were there two weeks ago and unfortunately Roger Rabbit was connected. I was counting on it not being connected, but we got "not a valid fastpass". It was our first time at DLR and we really liked this ride.

OH NO! Is this the norm now, does anyone know if they are changing how the systems are connected? Hydroguy, can you help?
