Here now at GF - beach closed & new construction. FINAL UPDATE: Panoramic view of fence and rocks

Thank you for the pictures and updates tigger1972!!
I love the rocks and fence. I think it blends in really well and looks great. Anxious to see if that's what Disney does at the other resorts.

Thanks for the photos tigger1972!! One question: it looks like there is something a few yards out in the water. Is this another rock barrier? Thanks!

I think you are seeing the construction containment boom ( yellow floating barrier ). It should be removed once the work is complete and approved.

Looks nice and the beach still looks inviting with great views. Thanks for sharing the pictures! I hope to see it in person in 2017!

Thanks! I could definately see the yellow in the earlier photos, but that last one it seemed darker so I wasn't sure.

Final Update 7/16: Here's a final panoramic shot we took on the last day of our stay. Note the alligator/snake warning sign every 4th or 5th post. Personally I think it looks wonderful, serves a greater purpose and it does not distract you from the gorgeous view!

I think it looks great! Thanks for taking the time to post updates/pics during your trip :).

Shoot I hope they are done with all the beach changes before we go to YC at the end of August and that whatever they put up isn't really hideous
I was thinking the same thing. I saw a photo of the temporary barrier at the GF and a photo of the permanent barrier at another resort and I honestly thought the temporary rope and rock barrier was prettier than the steel barrier.

My local ABC station picked up the story. I think using the term "stone wall" is extremely misleading, you hear that and you picture a 3-5 foot high wall. As can clearly be seen in tigger1972's pictures that is far from the truth.

That's what I thought when they said stone wall. I looked through other articles but NO ONE had any photos... Hence I hopped over here: -)

I've never felt unsafe. Just have to be aware of your surroundings. And obey the signs. It's unfortunate some people can't do this.

It's also unfortunate that Disney front line staff at the beaches couldn't say 'hey, don't even wade in the water, there's alligators around' or that Disney couldn't proactively add a couple lines to the warning signs like at parks all over FL.
