It is crowded! We have not been to the world since 2010 but have always gone last week of February and have had low crowds. We were at MK yesterday and it was packed, like summertime crowds. Crazy! Thank goodness for my planning. We love the new festival of fantasy parade!

We ran into the same situation the last week of January when we went. MK was the worst by far with crowds, way worse than the same week we went two years prior.

See, I was there Presidents weekend (for the first time) and thought crowds were much more manageable than I'd been led to believe for that time of year!!

It's all perspective, I guess.

We were there the week leading up to MLK this year, and we thought it was extremely easy to tour (not that crowded). I was surprised when I came on and saw some trip reports talking about how crazy things were.

I guess one person's "empty" is another person's "crowded."

We were there in January 2 years ago, and I was shocked at the crowds, especially at MK. And that was when the temps were in the mid-40's and raining!

It just seems like anytime is crowded now.

We went from the Saturday before Martin Luther King Day through the next Saturday in January 2012 and January 2015. The first time in 2012 was pleasantly low crowds even on the weekend when we expected higher volumes. The entire week had low crowds. Fast forward to 2015 and it was the complete opposite! The crowd levels were so high when we arrived on Saturday that it was hard to walk around. It as bad if not worse than the crowds we often encounter in July when we go.

We alternate April with July every year. Since our trip was nowhere near Easter week, we were pretty surprised that MK crowds were worse in April 2015 than our July 2014 trip. We thought it was because many people had skipped AK due to heavy construction. It will be interesting or possibly scary to see what the summer months will bring. The times they are a changing at Disney.

Glad you liked the FoF parade. It's one of my favorites. How can you beat a fire breathing dragon?

Interesting. I happened to be checking the wait times yesterday afternoon, and outside of 7DMT and Peter Pans Flight, everything else seemed fairly manageable.

However, you are comparing this to 2010. Like already stated, it's all about perspective I guess.

I was there this past Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and thought the parks were dead (new dead, not 2008 dead).

Same here. Arrived Sunday left yesterday and while I wouldn't have said the parks were completely dead, I found crowd levels very manageable. :D

Just a couple of examples:
At HS on Wednesday at 11 a.m. I rode ToT and the standby line had maybe 20 people in it. I then went and rode RnR as a single rider and literally there was nobody in the single rider line. Star Tours was no more than 5 minutes. Also, at 2 PM in the afternoon I could still get a FP for everything except TSMM
At Animal Kingdom on Monday I literally walked on Dinosaur at 10 a.m. It did feel the crowd at around 11:30, but again not bad at all.

Agreed. We went out to the parks, Magic & Studios on Monday and Tuesday and it was dead to us as well. At Magic on Monday, no posted waits (other than 7 Dwarfs) were over 30 minutes when we were there in the late afternoon. We walked right in to Skipper Canteen at 3:30'ish with no wait.

Same at the Studios on Tuesday. Nothing, except Toy Story was over 30 minutes posted waits either. We also did a walk up with only about a 10 minute wait at Sci Fi as well for lunch at 2:00'ish.

All in your perspective I suppose. It will start picking uo very soon when spring breaks roll around. Enjoy while you can!

And to note we are having and awesome time. I don't want to sound like I'm complaining.

As they say... There's no real slow time in the parks any more. Just crowded, or more crowded.

Easywdw had yesterday as a 3 and MK as a recommended park. Wonder what was going on?

Our first trip was Labor Day week 2013 and I kept asking my husband "Why are all these people here?" Poor little newbie me.

Touringplans had adjusted all their forecasts much higher after the sudden spike in attendance late last year. Not sure if it's just the economy or what. Maybe people think they have more expendable income now and we were just spoiled the last few years. :D
