On my list of the Top 100 things I love about WDW, Towel Animals are conspiciously absent.
On my list of the Top 1000 things I would complain about, either in person or online, it's also missing.
If the news from Boston and Texas and China over the last week has taught us anything at all, it should be that life's too short to sweat the small stuff like towel animals.
When we go and stay in Niagara, and pay for an upper level fallsview room, it doesn't SAY on the room listing that I will be valet parked, nor that a bellhop is going to take my bags up to my room, but if I am paying $500 a night for the room, yur damn right I expect it.
We stayed at POR last year for 11 days. One of my sons joys was coming back to the hotel after a day in the park; and, being surprised by what housekeeping did that day. We had many towels made into animals and there was even a car. Some had stickers on them. The cutest thing they did was to position my son's stuffed animals in a different spot every day. One day, they had them peeking out the window. Just thinking about it makes me smile. We made sure to go to the front desk and let them know how appreciative we were. We did not know this then but later found out each time you go to guest services and compliment a particular disney employee, it goes in their file. Apparently, it helps them when they are trying to move into better positions.
Disney is known for there hospitality. They train there staff to extremes in providing good service. I have a girlfriend, who worked for disney many years ago and she told me a funny story about how they are trained to point. You can not point with one finger,(it is seen as a rude gesture) you have to use two or three fingers (cant remember which) and you have to gesture a specific way. This is a perfect example of how much thought goes into every detail.
That being said we all have different opinions about the money we pay for a stay and whether we should be entitled to that service or not. I personally don't think either side is wrong or right. There is validity to both points of view. What I find disappointing is when someone comments in a sarcastic or rude manner towards another poster, simply because they post something you do not agree with. Wasn't it thumper or his mother, who said, if you can't say something nice then don't say anything at all?
Anyways, I bet if you went to the front desk and graciously asked, if there was any possibility to have an animal made and left one morning they would oblige.
Have a magical vacation!![]()
I don't get the whole fascination with towel animals, but to each their own! It's certainly not something that I would ever consider complaint-worthy.That's not what I'm looking forward to when I go to Disney.

And thank you, maybe I didn't get this across, maybe I don't have the gift with words that you do, but this is exactly what I was trying to convey.
This is a good opportunity to teach your daughter how to focus on all the positives in life and to not dwell on the negatives. I'm sure there are plenty of positives to be thankful for at Disney. Point those out!Has Disney or The Boardwalk done away with towel animals?? My girls love them and created decorated envelopes for mousekeeping before we left home. Each morning they have added a little note on the front saying "towel animals please" but still we have not received any in 5 days. My DH says it is because we are not leaving enough. Each envelope just has $5 in it which I thought seemed enough for the 4 of us as we are also leaving the room quite clean each morning. Is he right? So far the location of the boardwalk we love but that is all unfortunately so was just wondering if this is common here?
And I agree with the both of you. Of course it's not expected, but it's part of the whole disney experience you pay to stay onsite for. It's the little things - like towel animals, or the Mickey wake up call - that sets disney apart from just a regular hotel. And yes, we've gotten them before and it puts a smile on the kids (and adults!) faces to come back at the end of the day to them.

Well, by that way of thinking the Disboards shouldn't exist either.
Oh I am fully familiar, but that doesn't mean I would settle for 'sufficient' service at that price. But part of that is also caused by the passivity of the consumer.
