I’m at Japan in Epcot as I type this. 1030am and it’s pouring lol. I have my Hollywood Studios day tomorrow. This will be our 2nd HS day. We did RD ROR and bought G+ our first day. Using that method we watched Frozen, Indy and Beauty and Beast shows. And completed every major attraction once with time to hang out and eat/take pictures in between. We we’re done by 8 and watched the night shows to end the night. Use similar strategy or should you maybe try something different?

We are not big Star Wars Fans so we do this in the 75 minutes we are able to ride rides.

We get to DHS about 1 hour before the officially opening time for resort guests.

We line up outside MMRR and wait to be let in the building.

In the first 75 minutes we can knock out MMRR/RnRC/ToT.....and later in the day we use a SDD LL we procured at 7am. Of course the time you get to ride it is always a crap shoot.

I’ve thought about that strategy too. ROR takes a decent amount of the time from the time you start to queue to the end even with Rope Drop.

We’re not huge Star War fans either but the pure aesthetics is Super cool. Lots of different ways to go about it.

Sounds like your first day at HS was pretty successful. I don't think I'd change it unless you were unhappy with how it turned out. What I'd probably suggest (for someone that can wake up earlier than me) is to utilize the extra hour in the morning to knock out rides that don't have a huge line up right away (Toy Story Mania, Alien Swirling Saucer, Runaway Railway) so you can do several of them before the gates open to all, stack your Genie+ every 2 hours with your fav rides or re-rides (Slinky Dog, Smuggler's Run, Runaway Railway), watch shows in between if you want to see any of them again (standby for Frozen and Beauty and Beast was very manageable in December, no LL required, and I've never seen the Indy show so can't comment on that line), and then right before park close, hop into the line for Rise of the Resistance one last time. Smuggler's Run also offers a single rider line which moves quite quickly even during peak times, but the line may not always be offered close to park closing time.

You could also spend your time building a lightsabre or droid - lightsabres at night in Galaxy's Edge look very cool and make for an awesome photoshoot.

Thanks Sleepness. I will say overall I was really happy with my day 1 at HS. The couple that we vacationed with will not be with us so it will just be me, my wife and 19 son 12 Daughter and 6 son. The last 2 hours of the day we did split the group up while my friend, older son and daughter rode RoRC and ToT. They just hung out and did do alien once with a G+. My wife couldn’t make ROR with us for Rope Drop. She needed to pick up medication and Met us at mid day. I feel like I should have her experience ROR at least once. I might follow a similar experience. The kids and and I really enjoyed Slinky. What about rope dropping ROR then standing in Slinky. While getting a slinky FP at 7am?

You definitely can - it’s just that rope dropping ROR eats up a ton of time because everyone heads either to ROR or Slinky. But if that is the main goal of the second day, then absolutely it is a great idea. (If getting on Rise is important, also consider buying the individual Lightning Lane? I’m assuming you’re staying on site - those ILLs go quick!!)

No not staying on site unfortunately. Staying at Disney Springs Hotel partner so I do get the EMH but since it’s not an official Disney hotel I would have to wait until park opening. I tried to do that and was not successful.
