Today is our first park day so I thought I would pop on and give a rundown.
Crowds: All we have to compare it to was January 2016 and if seems about the same to me. I was expecting much worse (whcih I realize will still probably happen this weekend).
Rides: we rope dropped DL and did the following from 8-9 am: we went straight to Indiana Jones (it was down), then headed back to BTMRR (it was also down), Haunted Mansion (not the best use of rope dropping but after the first two rides being down DS6 was getting frustrated), POTC, back to BTMRR (which was now up and running)
9-10am: Star Tours (down...not loving this trend), pulled FP for Hyperspace Mountain (return of 10:55-11:55), and went on Nemo (the posted wait was 20 minutes but was more like 35, also, I forgot that I don't love this ride)
10-11am: we were first in line at the little red wagon and then sat down and ate our corn dogs (our first at Disneyland and fhey were as amazing as everyone says), Jungle Cruise (we got to the "low man on the totem pole" scene and the ride stopped. I think we were stopped for about 20 minutes before we reversed back to the dock. Our skipper was very kind and put us in the shade while we waited and after arriving back they gave us fast passes for any attraction)
11-noon: used our FP for Hyperspace, Buzz Blasters, and used our bonus FP for Star Tours (during this hour we also sat for a good 20 minutes at that giant water ball thing in Tommorrowland)
noon-1pm: hopped to DCA, rode the Red Trolley to Hollywoodland, Mike and Sully to the Rescue, watched a bit of the Red Trolley Show
1-2pm: WOC lunch at WCT (we had never been here before. we sat outside, loved the atmosphere! ), headed back to our hotel PVI and grabbed Soarin FPs on the way (return time 7:20-8:20).
2-??: resting and swimming (DS is entering hour 2 of a nap, we had a long day of travel yesterday)

Despite a lot of rides being temporarily down I feel like we had a good morning and were able to get quite a bit done.

I read your schedule out loud to my wife and she thinks it would have been a neat experience to go backwards in Jungle Cruise. Lol.

Never eaten at WCT but we have wanted to. We never make reservations, though, being passholders. We just go wherever we fancy when we're there. If we do sit-down, Storytellers at Grand Californian is one of our favorites and doesn't need reservations.

Thanks for sharing your mini trip report! I love how close the PVI is... makes those mid-day breaks so easy!

That happened to us once. And it actually was cool! We got as far as the tiger then had to go backwards back to the dock. We also got FP's for any attraction. Here's a scrapbook page I did about it (cause yeah, we thought it was that cool, lol):
