I get your point now. Thanks.

I would just add that if staying onsite gets you a better deal with FP+, you'll hear it from Disney first. You won't have to slink about message boards looking for secrets.

I would definitely think so....I mean it could help fill rooms. Right now I'm very much on the fence for onsite vs off for my next trip.

ETA: I also would have thought Disney would have notified me before my Dec trio telling me I would be on MB only since I was at Pop. They didn't....found out here.

This could be taken to an extreme. What if you are staying at the GF, in a suite, and find that after your 3 morning FP+s, you can grab a dwarf coaster ride at 2 pm, then a Space slot after that for 5, then a Fireworks space after that.

It will take many months, and a lot of people purposefully comparing availability together, to see just how sinister Disney will be with this. They could make this into one hell of an advantage for top spenders. However, without advertising it, it won't help them, so I just don't know.

This assumes Disney wants GF-suite residents to remain in the park. I tend to agree with clsteve, who makes the point that Disney may want to introduce these guests to other, more profitable products outside of the parks.

Yup....that's why a few posts before this one I agreed it's a mystery for sure. I really don't think anyone will ever know.

Totally agree with that.

What would be the point otherwise? Sure, it may help onsite guests have a more enjoyable trip and return to WDW, but they aren't necessarily going to attribute the good FP+ experience to staying onsite if Disney is doing it secretly. They may return to WDW again but stay offsite because they don't know it makes a difference.

If Disney does go about it like this, the only way it would increase onsite stays is if they made it known that onsite guests get better selection.

Agreed.

I wonder if this is another test to see what they can do and what works before announcing it as an added benefit to the intended recipients :confused3

Any other way just seems too roundabout.

Now, to lure in the "hey, that telephone repair truck sure has been parked in front of my house for a long time" crowd, Disney could conspicuously do nothing to dispel such notions and maybe get something-for-nothing via increased onsite bookings.

Once you start down the conspiracy path... :scared1:

Report from Epcot:

"Mickey Adventures is here today testing out the new ability to select another FastPass after using your 3 that were scheduled. We scheduled all 3 for morning, and finished the 3rd around 11:30. We headed straight to a kiosk (you can't use the app for this unfortunately). The good news is that we were able to get a FastPass for Test Track! The bad news is that we couldn't get it until 5:20 since it's a somewhat crowded day. And there was nothing available for Soarin. Stay tuned to see if we can get another one after!"

I feel like this would be normal return times under FP-, though who knows if it will still look like this after everyone knows you can book a 4th.

Why would Disney stay quiet about this though? If one goal is to get more people to stay onsite why wouldn't they make it clear that the FP+ offerings could be better for onsite visitors?

I firmly believe that this is something they plan to do, if it isn't being done already.

Case in point:
My friend was on Concierge Level at Beach Club over Spring Break. Her concierge set her up with 6 (yes, SIX) FP+s for each member of her family at MK one of the days we were all there. Then while they were inside MK, they got 1 or 2 (I forget which, might have just been one, but I am certain of at least one) additional FP+ added to each of their accounts by yet another CM.

Clearly, if you show Disney the bucks, you get the goods. Simple as that.

Pretty sure your friend is a big fibber.

Are you sure those FP weren't compensation for something? 7 or 8 FP+ is extreme, and I've only ever heard numbers like that when something has gone wrong. Your friends might have also just encountered a really awesome CM.

Throughout this whole thing I haven't seen a single report of a club level guest getting FP+ treatment like that solely because they were club level. I don't think there's anything clear about it, majority of guests aren't getting special treatment (concerning FP+) in the parks if they're staying club level, yet.

Of course, under the old FP- you could check the FP return times and determine if it was worth getting one. Now you won't know until you wait in line at the Kiosk.

I know, in the future you'll be able to do this all by your smart phone.

Walk to each attraction to check return times -v- checking them all at one kiosk...

The ability to check fp return times with phone apps, like Lines, has been around for a while. I know it was listed in Lines on our last DLR trip in 2011. Didn't mde have fp return times on it too under legacy? Or was that only Disney's mobile magic app?

Point being, it has been a few years since the only way to check fp return times was going to the attraction.

They will let the Deluxe guests know, but they will have to sign non-disclosure agreements promising not to reveal the secret handshake to the rabble staying offsite. :rotfl2:

Or checking them all at once on my Touring Lines app (that worked to boot!).

Or Mousewait...I just opened the DLR mousewait, and FP return times are prominent.

Yes, I know. I didn't think the PP knew and I just wanted to work with what he gave me:

"Now you won't know until you wait in line at the Kiosk."

Figured "Lines" (which I subscribe to) and MDE might be a bridge too far ;)

From Attractions magazine:

We used 5 Fastpasses today and park hopped with them. No problems.
