Here it is - Announcement re More FP+ Beginning 4/28

not sure the exact date. That is not years.[/QUOTE]
August was a very small test that included only four resorts. I don't think that can be considered the roll-out.

The FP+ roll out started, but legacy FP was still available and fell under the same rules. We went in October last year and stayed offsite, so legacy FP was the only system we had access to.

That is why I said started. By August, the complaining had switched to FP+. Most complained before they used the new system. By that point the complaining about FP- return times was dropped.

I just got off the phone for a CM at central reservations and they said you can only get that 4th fastpass AFTER you have used the 3rd, or after the window has expired on the 3rd.

Thanks for looking into that! An hour really makes a difference when trying to plan.

Well, maybe I misunderstood your post, but you were responding to the comment that the FP return time had been in effect for years. You said FP+ roll out started in August, so it hasn't been years. But as has been pointed out, even under FP+, the return window is STILL enforced.

Ugh, Josh said exactly what I was worried about if they did this. Wait times for the Tier 2 rides with get even worse.

Are the days of riding POC, HM, IASW in the standby line over?

What I do find interesting is that they aren't letting guests use the billion dollar interface to make the additional reservations and they have to go to a kiosk.

They're working on it.

The My Disney Experience app tied to the FastPass+ program will not be used initially to get additional passes.

"We are working on ways to make this available on the app," a Disney World spokeswoman said Thursday.

This is from the Orlando Sentinel.

Were they really expired windows if Disney had no issues accepting them? :scratchin

Sorry, just feeling nostalgic for the arguments about return times.

Yeah, me too. Remember how hoarding FP-'s past the labeled return times caused the fastpass lines to back up out into the parks, like some people always said it would? Oh wait, that was FP+ doing that. Never mind.

Could it be that they only want people who are in the park to be able make those additional FP reservations, and the part of the system that can track your location does not yet have the necessary interface with the FP reservation system? Maybe that interface is what they are working on.

Josh from EasyWDW gives his take on the new program:

It’s the newly minted FastPass+ attractions that are seeing significantly higher wait times under the new system. That’s also to be expected as attractions like Pirates of the Caribbean and it’s a small world now have hundreds of riders per hour arriving with priority boarding FP+ in hand. With Disney pushing up to 70% of ride capacity to FastPass+, standby waits for many secondary attractions have gone up significantly.

With the ability to add a 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, etc. FastPass+, we can expect standby waits at secondary attractions to go up even higher now that the maximum number of FastPass+ will be distributed for the majority of attractions. Instead of people using up their FP+ allotment early in the day and being done with it, we’re going to have thousands of people now selecting a 4th, and potentially 5th, and 6th FastPass+ attraction. And they’ll all be boarding with priority ahead of any suckers unfortunate enough to find themselves in the standby line. So you go from 300 people an hour using FastPass+ at Pirates of the Caribbean over the course of an hour to potentially the maximum hourly allowance, which is likely north of a thousand.

Basically, get your FP+ or wait longer in line.

And the march towards a 100% ride reservation system continues...

And that is what so many "haters" were told would never ever happen, even though many of us saw it coming a mile away.

So basically, anything worthwhile looks to be gone, leaving the 4th+ FP options as rides that historically have low waits. If a large enough number of people decide to utilize the rotating FP, those secondary lines are going to be even worse.

My hope is that during lower crowds when I go it won't look this bad. Crossing my fingers over here!

But the funny thing is Everybody's wrong on this. It wasn't planned and it wasn't the feedback -----

It's the System: MM+ has taken over and they can't stop it. They can only hope to control it by doing everything it tells them to do.

Btw, I've known this for awhile because of deep insider knowledge I'm getting but I just haven't been able to share it until now.....;)

Skynet is self aware??

I like this update. Although I don't know if any tier 1 attractions will be left after I use my 3. Now how many of us are going to book two fastpasses we don't even plan to use early in the AM at Epcot, use one for Soarin' or TT and then try to grab one for the other as a 4th? Could be a way to ride both in one day without have to wait in a long SB line for the second. Hmmm.
