Here it is - Announcement re More FP+ Beginning 4/28

FP+ is here to stay !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keeps getting tweaked/enhanced and seems to be more popular each day ! I could get 8-10 FP under old system if I really tried but when you could you never needed them all. When you park hopped the headliners were gone until very late if any ! With FP+ people may change to some other ride and those spots become available ! Old system the tickets were tossed(mostly) and spots were gone even though no one used them :guilty: Bottom line you can send all the emails you want but they have a plan. They had a plan all along but many were just too , hmm what's the word, anyway they are enacting their plan on their time frame.
Can't wait to see what they have in store for us :) More Magic for sure :lovestruc

Disney is not immune from making mistakes and changing their plans.

Remember the original New Fantasyland plans? Do you think they just released the plans for the Princess overloaded version just so when there was backlash and they released new plans with much less Princess and 7DMT people would appreciate them more? Somehow I don't think that was the case.

No doubt Disney has a plan for FP+. This plan likely goes further than the changes that are coming on Monday. That doesn't mean this was the plan from the start. That doesn't mean there haven't been tweaks and changes from guest feedback, both good and bad. That doesn't mean there won't be even more changes down the line that aren't reflected in the current plan.

If this particular scenario was the plan all along, what was the purpose of the survey detailing 2 other options that are not coming to FP+? Was it just for you know whats and giggles? If they wanted opinions on the coming change, why not just ask about that specific scenario and whether it's an improvement from the original FP+? The answer is likely if they had strong enough data to take them in a different direction, they would have done so.

This. 1000 times this.

I would ask, Sammie.:thumbsup2 Great point though.

Sammie, do you know? I'm genuinely curious why they would include the other 2 options in the survey if this one was planned all along. If the response was strong enough, would another option have been chosen, or at least explored?

My best friend is upper management at Disney. My other friend plays Goofy. Neither one has said Disney regrets the FP+. In fact, it was a well received, well tested decision. That being said, I just hope there are some good times left once my 3 are used up. I really can't take my 2 and 5 years old on rides at midnight!

Disney is using FP+ as a way to keep guests in their parks? They want people to spend their money there? Holy cow, I hope other businesses don't try to master this concept!

I hope their plans include trying the scenario where you have a "rolling 4th FP+" in Oct. That is one I might be able to get in board with. I honestly would be happiest with choose 1 in advance (so I wouldn't feel so scheduled) and then choose others in the park. Or even 3 but let me choose to use in different parks so I'm not wasting 2 in Epcot.

I've used the legacy system many times, and although I see the level of flexibility in getting more fast passes with the old system, I think the new systems provides flexibility in other ways too, like being able to choose your time for the 3 you get and being able to change them if they are not needed. If someone gives me an entire free cake today, but I only get a free cupcake tomorrow, I may be prone to complain at first, especially if I'm used to the former, but either way they're both still better than nothing. But then again, I tend to look on the bright side :)

I try my best to not be a negative Nellie and to look at things at face value. I can see their are positives with the new system (for an example on arrival day it would be sweet to walk into HS at 4pm and walk on to TSM). However, for me the positives don't outweigh the negative. I view it in terms of "I was able to accomplish X number of attractions on FP- and now I get less than X". I did try the new system in Dec and was at Pop and had FP+ only. I made it work to the best of my ability but found the whole thing rather frustrating.

Just because I may not like fp+ doesn't mean I want to screw other people over.

I would have been just fine with Disney promoting the old fp system the way they are fp+ and usage being thr same percentage as it is now, with fp+.

I understand it would have meant less fps for me, but less fps for me because other guests are legitimately using them and they are just sold out is a different situation than an artificial limitation, where there may be fps left, but once I use my limit it doesn't matter if there are any left or not because they aren't available to me.

Excellent post! I really do not like the fact that FP+s are magically appearing throughout the day. Is this the plan. So my fam of 6 can't change to Buzz but the fam of 6 behind me in line can b/c they asked at the magical time. At least with FP- everyone saw the same thing. Now we have no way of knowing. And if that is a goal for the system, fine...but at least be up front about it. Tell us what we're working with. I honestly don't think Disney knows the end plan tho. They' just keep testing and changing forever.

I really dislike this part of it too. Way too random. And it causes some to stay glued to their phones, on the off chance something else gets released.

Me too. Seems to be a common theme in this rollout. It wouldn't be half as bad if Disney was open with the public about what's going on.

And to boot you get the people who complain that everyone is immersed in their devices and not taking in the beauty of WDW, while raving about how awesome and flexible it is to change FP+ all day long, check wait times from wherever you are, etc. Ummm, how else do you do that?

No one has said FP+ is going away.

It doesn't mean I have to like or participate in their new "plan".

Except you seem incredulous that people aren't believing you....

I don't hang out in those forums, so I wouldn't know your track record there. And # of posts doesn't necessarily equal inside knowledge :confused3

Look..you seem to be taking this personally. I'm not saying you are lying. I'm simply saying I don't know you from Adam, so just saying "I have inside.knowledge" doesn't mean much to me. Ot doesnt mean I think you are making it up, or lying or what have you...just that I'm not going to blindly accept information from someone I don't know as fact. I think that's pretty reasonable. :confused3. It's not personal.

It's not personal to me either, I meant on this particular forum/theme parks I would not expect anyone to believe anything that goes against their much stated stand on this situation.

Enjoy your next trip.

My stance regarding not blindly accepting what someone I don't know tells me has absolutely nothing to do with fp+. We could be on the same side of the issue, and I would feel the same way.

I don't understand why it is apparently unusual or unreasonable to question what an anonymous person on the internet, with whom I've had little interaction, says?

I'm honestly trying to be reasonable here. Why does everything have to boil down to being for or against fp+?

Seriously........ and I want you to think about this for a minute. If I all of a sudden popped into one of these threads and said I have a friend who works at Disney and they said FP+ rollout had been a huge miscalculation that the company regretted ever undertaking.............would you believe me?
. Yes I would believe you because it is difficult to plan for a group. Is Disney catering to solo travelers now? It is easy to plan for one.

Doesn't mean that it wasn't the plan from the start either. They didn't necessarily find all the answers in the surveys.

I didn't say anyone said it was going away  Just stating the obvious for the Magnificent Seven. And NO of course you don't have to participate and again I didn't say you did :coffee:
