compliments of SillyMe...Go ahead, laugh at my expense, I don't care. :rotfl:

Brief explanation...I'm going through a separation and in the process of moving into an apartment. Yesterday my dd14 and I were at the apartment. DD6 insisted that her father bring her toy box down to the apartment for her. So, he did.

Now, the parking lot is slightly sloped and it had snowed the night before. By this time it was starting to get icy. He parked behind my truck and we were all taking the toy box and toys out of his car, when his car started to move forward. DD6 ran the other way. DD14 grabs the car (she's behind it), thinking she could hold it back :rotfl: . Me, the brilliant one, is standing on the passenger side of the car. Instead of opening the passenger door, jumping in and pulling the emergency brake, I run around THE FRONT of the car to get to the driver side. I swear the car started rolling faster when I ran in front of it.

Oh no! Are you all OK? Did it hit your truck?

We're fine. Luckily, he jumped in the car and stopped it before it went any further. I'm sure it was tempting for him to let it roll once I got in front of it, though. :rotfl:

You are lucky though. I had a friend that tried to jump back in because she was standing by driver's side but wasn't able to and car drug her and ran over her. She is OK but went through a lot. Her 2 year old was inside the car! Glad you are all OK.

Yikes! :earseek:

I can totally picture that happening, lol.

Whoa! Glad you're ok and that the ex didn't take advantage of the situation ;)

I'm glad you're ok, but your right....that was funny. :rotfl2: Now here's my story. When I got my current car 7 years ago, I had't driven a standard in a few years. Well, bought my car on a Saturday. The next day, Sunday, I headed off to the store to get a few things. So I pull in to the parking lot and proceeded to look for a parking space. I find one, pull in and shut the vehicle off. I get out, lock the door and start walking off. Well...the car starts to roll. I thought to myself...oh *&%#. I grab my keys and start fumbling to get the key into the door to open it, which wasn't working. Well, I then remembered (after 5 seconds of walking along side the car, which seemed like an eternity) that I had a keyless remote entry. So I pushed the button and got into the car to stop it. I felt like a complet idiot after that. So I started the car and proceeded to drive home where I laughed so hard my stomach hurt.

ETA: I should have mentioned that I had the car in neutral and didn't have the parking break on.
