We will have the dining plan, which is new to me. We are trying to have dinner at kid friendly places. It is me, DH, DS 8, DS2

The dining plan is new to me, if we stay for 4 nights, does that mean we get 4 days of dining? Or do I need to plan 5 days

Day 1 Saturday
Check in CSR
Quick lunch at Pepper Market
Over to MGM
Need a suggestion for Dinner--
Catch Fantasmic

Day 2 Sunday
Chef Mickey Breakfast
Over to Magic Kingdom for the day
Light lunch, or snacks
Need dinner suggestion

Day 3 Monday
Quick Light Breakfast in room
Over to Animal Kingdom
Pizzafarri for Lunch
Leave around 5:30 for dinner at O'hannas

Day 4 Tuesday
Light Breakfast in room
Over to Magic Kingdom
Need a place with Chicken Fingers for lunch
Dinner at Whispering Canyon

Our 5th day in the Parks will be at Epcot
I'm not sure if this day is covered under the dining plan.
Suggestions for kid friendly places are welcomed

yes you are correct if you stay 4 night you get 4 nights worth of credits...So you will have 12 CS, 12 TS, and 12 snacks...3 people on the dining plan X 4 nights.

If you are wanting to catch Fantasmic try out Mama Melrose's, Hollywood & Vine or Brown Derby (this one takes 2 CS credits) the others are 1 TS per person. This way you can go from dinner to the reserved area for those using the dining package.

At Magic Kingdom , Liberty Tree Tavern is really good or maybe the Crystal Palace both character meals.

At AK if you like BBQ I would choose it over Pizzafari it is REALLY GOOD!!! I am not a pizza lover though so I would choose the BBQ.

Chicken Fingers you can find these at Cosmic Rays and the food there is pretty good as well.

Just my suggestions!!!

Have a great trip :goofy: :goofy: :goofy:

My kid's love Italian. So Momma Melrose sounds like a winner for our MGM Day.

I'd like to do the Crystal Palace I'm just not sure if I can fit that into the dining plan. I could Pay for the chef Mickey Breakfast and then have a late dinner at Crystal Palace. It's allot of food for one day(I'm not complaining) I figure Chef Mickey's Breakfast would cost about $60.

Is it true that I could pay for TS kid's meals at O'hannas, Whispering Canyon and Momma Melrose and save Table service credits. Then Could I use these credits all together(for 2 adults and 1 kid) at Crystal Palace?

At MGM~ Prtime Time cafe... Good food and good times. :thumbsup2

Prime Time Cafe, is this where they make you eat your vegetables?

You will love the Pepper Market; best bang for your buck as a CS meal. Tax and tip are included also. Your kids would probably like the Crystal Palace character buffet at MK for dinner. And you can find chicken fingers at Columbia Harbour House there for lunch as well.

Yes, it is.

I don't know when you are going, but if it after April 1, they are debuting a new *boys* character meal at Hollywood & Vine in MGM. If you plan on doing Fantasmic that night, I highly recommend using the fantasmic dinner package, at either H&V or Mama Melrose. The food at MM is very good, but your boys may prefer the character meal at H&V. It is a buffet.

Yes, you can pay for your kid's meals out of pocket and use his dining credits toward your meals.

Be sure that, when you call to make an ADR for Mama Melrose's, you book a Fantasmic Dinner Package. If you just book the restaurant w/o booking the FDP, you will not be able to sit in the reserved sections at Fantasmic.

So, when you call, ask for a Fantasmic Dinner Package at Mama Melrose's for the date you need it.

The other 1-TS-credit option for a FDP is Hollywood & Vine, a buffet. We got tired of buffets last year & weren't too impressed w/ Hollywood & Vine, so we're trying Mama Melrose's this year.

Regarding the possible new character meal at Hollywood & Vine, I think that's going to be a breakfast, and I'm not sure if it would be an option for a FDP.

Day 2 Sunday
Chef Mickey Breakfast
Over to Magic Kingdom for the day
Light lunch, or snacks

On this day, if you don't want to use TS credits for dinner, a good counter service is Columbia Harbour House - the dining room upstairs is very nice, and the food was really good as well. Check out the menu to be sure there's something you & your family will eat; they serve chicken strips, fried fish, sandwiches, clam chowder, etc.

Many people like Pecos Bill's, but we've never tried it. Another good choice might be Pinocchio Village Haus - it has windows overlooking the "It's A Small World" ride. The menu looks really good too; we're trying this one for the first time this year.

If you do decide you want to use TS credits & pay out-of-pocket for another of your TS meals (like Chef Mickey's), I would suggest Liberty Tree Tavern (characters are Minnie, Goofy, Chip, Dale, & Pluto; food is American, served family style) or Crystal Palace (characters are Pooh & Friends; food is American, served buffet w/ lots of yummy selections - this was our very favorite buffet & our 2nd favorite restaurant!).

Day 3 Monday
Quick Light Breakfast in room
Over to Animal Kingdom
Pizzafarri for Lunch
Leave around 5:30 for dinner at O'hannas

Since you're already eating at 2 restaurants in the MK area (Chef Mickey's & WCC), you might think about switching your ADR from 'Ohana's to Boma at the AKL - for variety & also to experience another resort area. It would be a perfect ending to your Animal Kingdom day. There are exotic dishes on the buffet but American dishes as well. Plus, the AKL is gorgeous, and it's so fun walking around the lodge & looking at the animals. There's not any "fun stuff" at dinner like at 'Ohana's where there is hula hoop races, etc., but it's a very pretty restaurant & gets rave reviews! We really enjoyed it last year, & I wish I could fit it somewhere in our schedule this year!

Of course at 'Ohana, you do have the view of the castle from the restaurant! ;) Last year, though, even though we had an ADR, we had to wait for about 45 minutes for a table.

Day 4 Tuesday
Light Breakfast in room
Over to Magic Kingdom
Need a place with Chicken Fingers for lunch
Dinner at Whispering Canyon

If you don't eat at Columbia Harbour House on Sunday, you could eat there on this day. Columbia Harbour House has yummy chicken fingers, and, again, the dining room upstairs is so nice & relaxing!

Our 5th day in the Parks will be at Epcot

I think there's a restaurant that serves McDonald's in the World Showcase - maybe around Canada ??

Many of the World Showcase counter services have kid choices on their menus.

Last year, for our Counter-service in Epcot, we tried Seasons in the Land area of Future World. It was good (but crowded!), and the kids enjoyed their dirt cup puddings for dessert. However, this year, I wanted to try some of the World Showcase counters.

Regarding the Dining Plan, if you spend 4 nights, you'll have 1 TS credit, 1 CS credit, & 1 Snack Credit per person per night, and you can use the credits from the time of your check-in to midnight on the day of your check-out. So, basically, you will get 4 table-service meals (1 credit, not signature) & 4 counter meals over the length of your 4 night/5 day stay - w/o paying OOP for some meals.

I have never tried Boma. I know it gets rave reviews and I would love to try it. My kids are picky, but they probaly have standard kids food too. I love O'hana's but we go to O'hanas every trip. And on this trip I'm looking to make things easy. Since that is our AK day, it would be easy to switch.

Maybe I need to try Boma and Decide between Whispering Canyon and O'hannas.

Last year, our kids were 5 & 3, and they had to plenty to eat at Boma. Boma has a specific kids' area at the buffet w/ kid-friendly items like chicken fingers & mac & cheese in addition to other "American" offerings. They also enjoyed all the fruit.

And the dessert selections were amazing! I fell in love w/ zebra domes!

For the "meat & potatoes" kind of person, they had plenty as well.

I second Boma. We did it with our 6 & 3 yr olds and they had plenty, even tried some of the exotic stuff and liked it. We did it after our AK day as well, around 6:30PM.

IMO Crystal Palace had the best tasting food at Magic Kingdom.

How are their deserts? And what Characters are there. I know Chef Mickey has Micket & Minnie.

The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of how easy Crystal Palace would be. We wouldn't have to leave the park.

I can't recall about the desserts. We had BF there, anyway.

The characters are Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, Eeyore.
