Here Comes the Bride....12 Nights of FREE DINING, and Honeymoon fun with Pics!

We started our day by getting some breakfast. Being that we were staying at CSR, I thought that we should try Maya Grill. Luckily we did not need reservations for breakfast, so we walked in and were seated right away.
Breakfast at Maya Grill is the traditional buffet...eggs, bacon, ham, biscuits and sausage gravy, toast, fruit, pastries....you get the idea. We paid OOP for this meal, $36.11 (including tax). It was good, pretty standard. I actually expected more from the atmosphere at Maya Grill, but nothing jumped out at me. Here's what I had...a little of everything.
Would I eat here again? Sure. It was convenient and filled us up. We headed to DTD for the day until it was time to head to MNSSHP later that day. DH and I ALWAYS visit Goofy's Candy Company.
We mostly go so that DH can get his chocolate dipped pretzel rods. However, this time the store was pretty empty, so I was able to see in the glass case, and eyed up this:
$2.75 worth it's weight in yumminess. Vanilla (pink) icing and white cake. Plus it came with a plastic Snow White ring which I stretched to fit my finger and wore proudly throughout the day.
Lunch was spent back at CSR at the Pepper Market. I can tell you from a previous trip that we were not impressed with Pepper Market (some people love it though), but again, it was easy, so we had lunch here. A quick description on how you use Pepper Market....upon arrival they give you a card that you get stamped at various stations for whatever you want. We chose to get lunch at a time when it wasn't very busy, so we were able to stroll at our leisure to see the choices. However, when it came to finding someone who worked at the stations to tell them what you wanted, and to stamp your card, they were few and far between. When I finally found someone at the Asian food station, I got a pick two thing....Kung Pao chicken and sesame chicken, along with a spring roll.
The chicken was very dry and seemed like it had been out for a good deal of the day. DH got fajitas which had been satisfactory in the past.
Dry chicken again....husband not impressed either.
Luckily, we made up for lunch with dinner at CRT. We had an 8:05p reservation. Let me forewarn you, that if you are scheduling a dinner at this restaurant, find out what time Wishes is going to be. We got there with plenty of time to check in, however, the area around the castle had been roped off for Wishes, so we had to convince a CM to let us go through to get to our ressie on time. Once we did finally check in, they gave you a pass to get your picture taken with Cinderella herself. DH and I did this, then sat and waited (and waited) for our table. The one CM was really nice and apologized for us waiting so long. They were waiting for people to clear out of the restaurant after watching Wishes, and wanted to give us (the honeymoon couple) a table near the window. We had no problem waiting, and were finally seated. We started dinner with pretzel type rolls...
As an appetizer I had the BLT salad, and DH had the Castle Salad:
For dinner I chose the Prime Rib, and DH had the Salmon:
For dessert, we both had the Chocolate Cream Cheese buckle. I was pretty stuffed from dinner, but managed to make this fit in my belly with no problems! It was definitely a wonderful finisher to a great meal!
The Fairy Godmother along with Suzy and Perla all wished us a "Congratulations" which was nice, and included in the price of the meal was the photo with Cindy along with a larger picture of the castle. The meal was great, as was the food, and of course the atmosphere (come on, you're IN the castle!) We would definitely eat here again!

I have a quick question for you about CRT
DF and I ate here for lunch on our last trip in April. Throughout the entire meal we felt extremely rushed. Like it was a production line and they were just trying to get people in and out as quickly as possible.
There were also TONS of kids...... and they did this parade thing. Which is totally fine, however, when I had eaten here maybe 5 years prior, the castle was more of an adult fine dining restaurant. So this really surprised me.
I was wondering whether you found this with a dinner reservation? Or whether it was more of an adult, relaxed atmosphere?

I can honestly tell you that during dinner there were children there, in fact a whole table of them right next to us, but also a lot more adults. They sat us at a table on the outskirts (near the window that faces the carousel) so it didn't seem as bad to us. There was also another honeymoon couple there that was seated in the outskirts as well. We actually didn't feel rushed at all. In fact, at the end of our meal, our waitress saw our camera and asked if she could take pictures of us...she took several. Also remember that our dinner reservations were late (after Wishes), so some people were actually leaving the park after dinner (we stayed for EMH).
I think it would be less crowded if you did a dinner reservation and opted for a later time like we did. It was a lot of fun, and we would definitely eat there again.

Really enjoying the reviews so far. I must admit, when I read that you had a reservation at Diamond Horseshoe, I was thinking what??? 
But when you explained it was overflow for LTT it made sense - sorry you didn't enjoy it and I hope that LTT proved to be better.

Ok, so back to the posting of the meals after quite a stint of being gone (i apologize).
9/22/08....we were headed for MK. We decided to have a quick breakfast, so nothing exciting to report there. For lunch we headed to a good old favorite (with lots of places to sit) Columbia Harbor House. We used our counter service credits and I got the chicken fingers and apple crisp, along with a bottle of water. DH got the chicken sandwich combo, water, and the apple crisp as well. I enjoy eating here because there are plenty of places to sit, and they have a great fixin's bar!
For dinner we headed over to Epcot, and to Les Chefs de France. I myself had read some reviews on this website prior to going...some good, some bad. But I figured, hey, we've never eaten here before....why not give it a try.
We had arrived early to our ressie (about 20 minutes or so), and were seated right away. We found ourselves at a cramped table for two between lots of other people. We were wet (because it had rained), so it was difficult to maneuver our wet clothing without getting others around us wet as well. It was also VERY loud in there. Could hardly hear each other talking! Our waitress's name was Audry....cute girl, had just arrived to the U.S. from France only 2 weeks prior, so her english wasn't great, but we got along just fine, and it was funny to hear her try and use some American phrases.
We started out by ordering some soup. I ordered the [FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Bisque de Homard (translation...lobster bisque), and DH got the Soup du jour (yes...soup of the day). I forgot to take pictures of these, probably because I was flustered. Audry had brought out DH soup (potato and lentil) just fine, and I wound up getting the Onion soup....not what I had ordered. So, I had to find Audry, flag her down, and then explain that it was the wrong one. After waiting a little bit, I got the soup I ordered......it was okay.
Then it was time for dinner....Audry had made her recommendations previously, so we ordered according to that.
DH had the [/FONT]Filet de boeuf grille, sauce au poivre noir Gratin Dauphinois et haricots verts, a grilled tenderloin of beef, with potato gratin, and green beans ($32.95).
I was very excited to see Tuna on the menu....I'm a huge fan, and am convinced that someday I will glow thanks to all of the Tuna I have eaten. I've had tuna before, and know it's best when rare. The official name on the menu was: Thon poelle aux olives et pommes allumettes. Basically, tuna with an olive and caper sauce with shoestring fries ($28.95).
Both dinners were okay to say the least. DH wasn't too impressed with his beef, and my tuna was basically cold (yes, I know it's rare and cold in the middle), and the caper/olive sauce was very salty. We were looking forward to dessert and getting OUT of there. Both of us ordered the Chocolate Tarte ($7.25).
It was a very creamy chocolate mousse with bananas and ice cream, and a fruit glaze. This was excellent, and probably the best part of the meal.
My overall rating of Les Chefs de France (and don't flame me) is YUCK! My DH and I will never eat there again. We were not impressed by the cramped atmosphere, the less then ordinary food, and the noise level. I'm sure some people love it, and perhaps it is better when it's not "free dining" season....however, we probably won't return there.

That tuna looks way overcooked even though you ordered it rare. The other day we were discussing eating there. Maybe not although that dessert looked fabulous.

Thanks for the honest review of Chefs - must admit, it doesn't sound appealing although that dessert did look lovely.

The dessert was definitely the best part...like I said...the only bright spot of the whole meal! DH had originally chosen something else, but then picked the same thing as me last minute.
I reviewed the menu for Chefs on allears.net and actually didn't see this dessert listed anymore.
So did you order the tuna rare and it came like that or did you just order it and got what they normally cook? 'Cause that is so not rare and I would have sent it back if I had ordered it rare and been served that. And I'm not sure why they would pair an olive tapenade with tuna? That seems a very odd combo.

No problem. I ordered it rare, and knew it was going to be "pan seared", but at that point, I was hungry (and wet from the rain), and after having already sent back my incorrect soup order, I just wanted to eat.
