Congrats on the wedding. :goodvibes Are you a Penn state alumni? Both my DS and DD went to Penn state. Looking forward to your reviews.

Congratulations:cloud9:
I justed watched "Say Yes to the Dress" and the lady was getting married at WDW...my dream...now only if I wasn't married already for 15 years...:confused3
My DH will not consider re-newing, so I will have to wait for the DD's...

Guessing you are a Penn Stater too ... GO PENN STATE!!

Congrats on your wedding ... and what sounds to be a wonderful honeymoon.

Count me in:surfweb:

So my DH and I arrived 9/18...mid-afternoon, but by the time we landed, boarded ME, and got on the road, we had about 1 hour before our ADR for Artist Point. I prayed and prayed that we would get to our resort on time, and luckily our bus driver FLEW (he actually beat the video), so we changed, and our 12 nights of dining began.

We were on the regular dining plan, so only dinner and dessert and a non-alcoholic drink were included, so some of our food we paid OOP.

We arrived prior to the mad dinner rush, so I got to take some restaurant pictures...

We hadn't eaten all day, so we decided to order and split an appetizer. My DH chose the Venison Spring Rolls ($8.00) , and after the waiter's description, I chose the Smokey Portobello Soup ($8.00). The rolls were good (I had a bite), and my soup was excellent. Very creamy, but heavy (for me), and I knew I would be feeling it later.

For dinner, we were again sold on the waiter's descriptions...
DH had the Cedar Roasted King Plank Salmon ($34) which the waiter said is flown in each day from the northwest. It looked very good, I only had a bite.

I ordered the Grilled Buffalo Sirloin Steak ($42). I really enjoyed it, and let me say, I am usually NOT a meat eater. It was extremely lean, and was served with some sort of sweet potatoes. I should also add that my DH and I had a nice glass of wine on our first honeymoon night.

By this time, I know I was sufficiently stuffed, however, I decided to break WW for my honeymoon, and throughly enjoy dessert. My DH (who is on a health kick), decided to get the signature Artist Point Cobbler ($9). He basically just ate the berries, and some of the cobbler (he's so good), but said the berries were very good. I tasted a blackberry (which are one of my favorites).

I being a self proclaimed CHOCOHOLIC chose the Hazelnut Chocolate Torte ($9), and was thankful to see that it was small, but yummy.

Upon leaving, I was fully stuffed. We had used 4 credits (2 a piece) for dinner, plus OOP for the wine and appetizers. What I didn't notice until later, was that we were never charged for the soup. The first of magical moments;) for us. My opinion of Artist Point was that it was good, but shouldn't be considered one of the signature restaurants. On a past vacation we had eaten at California Grille, and felt we were spoiled by this dinner. Like I said, we enjoyed Artist Point, and glad we tried it, but probably will skip it on our next vacation.

Next up....Day #1....see ya REAL SOON!

Congratulations! :goodvibes When DH and I ate at AP, we had almost the same meal as you! The soup was wonderful and the chocolate torte so yummy. I was leary of the lavender ice cream but I really enjoyed it. :thumbsup2

You tried some places I haven't been to yet so I'm really looking forward to hearing (and seeing) more. Thanks.

Let me again begin by apologizing, I've been away from home for a week or so, but now I'm back and ready to finish all 12 nights of free (and OOP) dining.

Day 2 was spent going to MGM...excuse me....Hollywood Studios in the morning. We started out by going to Starring Rolls cafe to get cups of coffee. As with the rest of the honeymooners, my DH and I had buttons on that read "Just Married". Well when the woman behind the register saw our buttons, she asked if we were on our honeymoon (of course), and then handed us this for free! Another magical moment I guess!

For lunch we decided to head over early to ABC Commissary. It wasn't crowded at all, and gave us a chance to sit and eat. Both DH and I got the cheeseburger and fries, bottled water, and strawberry parfaits for dessert. We used two quick service credits.

They were good. Real beef and not very greasy. The parfait was okay...I mostly ate the yummy crumble on the top. The berries were still frozen. We would probably eat here again.

Night #2 was spent at Epcot for dinner. My DH and I LOOOOOVE Mexican food, and have always been a fan of the Cantina outside of the Mexican pavilion, so I decided to make reservations at San Angel Inn. There was a huge line to check in or inquire about reservations, so after checking in (early) we waited about 15 minutes for a table. The dining quarters were VERY close, but discussion at other tables did not bother my usually wandering ears. Again, we were very hungry and decided to split an appetizer. I just tried to look up the name on various menus, but my receipt only lists it as a sampler. As I remember it, it contained an empanada , some sort of taquito, and a beef flour taco. It came with some sort of dipping sauce (sorry it's so unclear), and costed $10.

For our main course, both DH and I ordered the Filete Monuleno. Normally $26.95, it was a grilled beef tenderloin over black beans and melted cheese, with ranchero sauce, poblano pepper strips and fried plantain.
IMG_2729-1.jpg

It was very spicy (the waitress kept refilling my drink), but good. DH thought the same thing. However, we left thinking, "that wasn't Mexican food at all". It seemed more Americanized to us then the usual Mexican food we are used to. Dessert was very yummy. Again, I don't see it listed, but it was a fruit mix. Basically a light, vanilla whip with fruit and caramel sauce in a tortilla like shell. This was sweet, but very, VERY good. I would totally advise to get this, if it is still on the menu.

My overall opinion (and yes, it's just MY opinion) is again, this restaurant was good, but we probably wouldn't eat here again. It was very crowded, and the food was just okay. The atmosphere was great, but the novelty had worn off by the time we were done with the appetizer.

Day 3 was spent at AK in the morning. Our breakfast was uneventful, so I won't bore you with those details. But lunch was had at the Yak and Yeti Andapur Cafe. DH and I had had food from here once before and thought it would be kinda different and hit the spot on this humid day. Again, we arrived early, and got ourselves a table.
DH ordered the Shrimp Lo Mein, a bottle of water, and a large cookie. All included via the quick service menu.

I ordered the Kung Pao Beef (as I had eaten this on a previous visit), along with a bottle of water, and a frozen lemonade (perfect for a hot september day!)

That night we headed to MK for dinner at the Diamond Horseshoe.
IMG_2801-1.jpg

I had eaten here when I was younger and they had the "Diamond Horseshoe Review". Knowing that they weren't going to do a show, I had no idea what to expect. When we got there for our 5:00p reservation, all of the doors were locked, and the shades pulled down. I kinda freaked for a second, and then saw others sitting outside and waiting. When I asked if they had reservations, they said yes, and that the restaurant wasn't open yet. While waiting to be seated, I overheard a woman explaining to a family that they were opened due to the increase of dinner ressies because of free dining, and that they basically would be serving the overflow of LTT, but without the characters. DH and I were seated at a table right on the stage. Here is our view:
IMG_2802-1.jpg

Our waiter came over to take our drink order, and explained to us, that the food would be exactly the same thing that they serve at the LTT (beef, pork, turkey, mashed potatoes, mac n cheese, and apple cobbler), but without the characters. At this point, I was extremely disappointed, because I thought perhaps the meal would be different, and that we had reservations at LTT for MNSSHP in a few days. But oh well...we trudged on. I didn't take any food photos as I was just so flustered and disappointed, so I apologize.

The atmosphere itself was nice, but the people horrible. Our waiter basically brought us our helping of food, then disappeared the entire time, to finally return MUCH later on. When we requested more meat (we were basically given only 2 pieces of the turkey/pork/beef), he was kinda dumbfounded that we asked for more, but brought it anyways. As we ate, my wandering ears got to listen to some Disney manager guy talk out loud about how much more money the park would be making being that the temporarily opened this dining space for people to eat.

If you can't tell already, I was totally disappointed with this experience. Yes, I am to blame for making the reservation there, and for going in with some sort of high hopes, along with no expectations. But I thought I would give it a try (plus I needed someplace in MK to eat that night). Next time, I'll do more research.
