6 weeks from Thursday and off we go to our 1st D23 convention and I am both excited and nervous. My main confusing thing is the morning lines. From what I understood there are 3 lines. One for the public, one for d23 member's and one for the 1st big stage show in the morning. Since we are gold and want to go the 1st stage presentation of the day which line do I use? Gold or the stage presentation? If d23 members get in a hour early wouldn't it make sense to do the d23 line? Also how do you know what line is what? Also autograph sessions. When a person lets say Marty Sklar is signing are you allowed to bring his book to have it signed or do they have things for the signers to sign? These are the 2 main questions so far so any help would be appreciated.

The Arena has it's own line. If you go into the convention early you probably won't get into the Arena. For what it's worth the D23 member line was so long last time that we didn't get in an hour early, and by the time we got to the front they were letting general admission in simultaneously.

Agree. Our experiences at every Expo have been the same. The lines are disorganized and confusing. Being a gold member is worthless when it comes to getting in early. In 2011, it was chaos. We were stuck in a members only line, while the general public had been entering for at least 20 minutes and we never moved. Finally, a CM in a suit came down the line and shouted at us to RUN for the entrance (whose great idea was this?), so everyone in our line took off for the doors. Ridiculous! I'm surprised no one was trampled. In 2013, it was only slightly better. CMs had no idea which line was which and kept moving people around. They separated me from DH, then refused to allow us to rejoin each other. I had to ask a lead why I wasn't allowed to stand in line with DH, and he had no answer. So I changed lines. Not sure what to expect this year, so at least we plan on bringing fun snacks to make the experience more pleasant.

OK, perhaps a dumb question here... But I am getting confused about the difference between the "Show Floor" and "Hall D23"..I get the D23 is the main expo stage, but what does the Show Floor then refer to? And Gold Membership only gets you early Show Floor access, correct?

Hall D23 is the 7,500 presentation stage, where as the 'Show Floor' is where you will find the shopping experiences and exhibits by different Disney business segments and private exhibitors. Correct, the Gold members only get early access to the show floor, not the presentations.

Thanks! I'm trying to firm up my strategy, and I am not yet 100% certain on all the D23 lingo and terms, at least not to the level I am comfortable with WDW and DL vocabulary! :)

Will they clear the Hall D23 floor between presentations? Or will folks be able to stay, like on Saturday, from the Live Action presentation through the Parks presentation?

They will clear the presentation halls in between presentations
Thanks! So if you want to see both, I am assuming we should plan to leave and then get right back in line? I appreciate your help!

That's what I'm thinking. This is my first year as well, so I'm not 100%. But I intend to be in line early for the Live Action presentation, and then after I plan to get right back in line for the Parks/Resorts.

Is there an overnight line for Stage Passes? I've been trying to do so much research, and I'm still so confused. What is each line for?

Last time, we were given cards that said D23 for the celebrity/legend to sign. For Brad Bird, we were given 2 per person.

I thought 2013 was pretty well organized, especially Day 2 and Day 3. We got inside by 9-9:30, (member line), but we were on that line by 6:30 am. We left our resort at around 6 am and walk over, and will stick to that plan this year.

Arena (now using Hall D23) has a separate line. Keep in mind, that Hall D23, is HUGE. Much bigger than the Arena was in prior years. That line will be inside. Also inside will be the 2 floor lines until 7 am, then they will have 2 floor lines outside, member and non member.

I think being in the gold line is a HUGE advantage, if you get there early enough. I think Saturday will be the REAL challenge. Studios live action will draw Disney, Star Wars, and Marvel fans for the morning lines. I also will be back in the Parks/Resorts line by 1pm, I hope. It is tough, because Studios usually runs late, too.

While gold only get early access to show floor, it would be almost impossible for a non gold member to see an early 10 am presentation, as they would probably still be outside at 10 am.

It really depends on what presentations. I'm not sure what they'll do for the early presentations in Stage 23 and 28, but as for Hall D23, there is a seperate line for that, so anyone who chooses to go on to the Show Floor at 9 or 10am, won't be seeing the Live Presentation in Hall D23, as there is only one line for that in Hall E.

So if on Saturday I want to see the 10AM presentation One Little Spark and also get a stage pass for Once Upon a Time, what is the best way to do that? It will be me and my best friend, so we can split up if needed. We were going to get there around 5am to get in lines, but at this point, I'm not sure which lines we'll be getting in.

Ah! I wish I could help with this, but I'm not sure. Hopefully someone else can shine some light on this? I'm not sure what time they are going to start giving out Stage Passes, but I would assume it will be like it was last year, and through some digging around at last year's material, the StagePasses for the presentations starting between 11:00am and 3:00pm start being distributed at 9am, and the passes for presentations starting after 3pm start being distributed at 12:30pm. So it looks like you'll be able to go the Marty Sklar presentation and then go get a pass after 12:30pm for the OUAT presentation.

And I believe, if you arrive at 5am, you would proceed directly to Hall E and get in line for the Show Floor in your respective membership line (Gold, Silver, General) and would be granted access to the floor at 9am or 10am, you would then proceed to the proper stage (Stage 28 for you). The other line in Hall E is for Hall D23 only and is for every attendee regardless of membership.

I think folks might find it helpful if I post a picture of the information sent with the tickets. I'll try and do that as soon as possible.

Does anyone know if they usually put up a map of the venue layout so you know where everything is before hand? I've only been to the Anaheim Convention Center once and I'm still not sure where everything is. So I'd hate to waste time running around trying to figure where things/lines are located.

In my google searches I have found maps for past events, so I am assuming that they will have maps available, but how soon before I am unsure.
