For those wondering how early to arrive... here at 7:00 and still in line for DA. The wait for Gringotts is already 4 hours.

We got to the gate at 6:15 they opened about 15 mins early. Took about 45 mins to get on the ride. Got to the very first part and it broke down. Had to come get us of the ride. We were face down at the first drop for about 10 mins

We are onsite EE. We were the first inside. We got on and it broke down second scene. We were evacuated and got a behind the scenes tour. We were issued a fotl pass after it gets running again. It is down now for a half hour.

You are in the cart behind us. Lol. I laughed thinking about someone on the hill.

Wow. I would have freaked. You have the best DA story to tell later! Did they give you a pass to ride it later or something?

We got a late start today. Weather in Orlando sent our plane to Tampa to wait it out last night. We'll get an earlier start tomorrow.

Sounds like it was running better yesterday! Gonna take a while before they get this all sorted out.

Right about now I am kind of glad I am not going till January..I feel bad for people waiting in the heat for hours only to have it breakdown..I know it is no ones fault and this happens with new rides and technology, but still..Makes me sad for people

Thanks to everyone for sharing their experiences - all I can say is YIKES!

I guess we're going to give it a go in a couple of weeks .... looks like getting up real early is the only way to make this happen with some success ---- I'm a morning person, but to be there at 5:30am?:faint: Oh well - if that's what it is, then that's what it is.

Just out of curiosity, can anyone talk about the wait times for the original HP/Hogwarts attraction at Island's of Adventure?

Are the wait times 'normal' at FJ, or are they longer than usual for this time of year?

Thanks for your help. :thumbsup2

Would getting there any earlier than 1 hr before gates have helped, or was it destined to be that long just from EE guests?

Just to make sure I am understanding. You arrived at 6:15 at the gate for EE and had about an hr wait. Was a lot of people already at the gate. Some said they arrived at 5:30. I leave tomorrow and was trying to figure out what time I needed to be at the gate for EE on Friday to see DA and ride.

Also if I'm in line for the ride once I'm done I can stay/look around DA??! Or will I need to get a return ticket?

Sorry. I'm a newbie as this is my first visit to US!

When you went on the ride is it best to be empty handed so you don't have to spend time at the lockers? Did you keep your phone in your pocket on the ride?

The problem is even if you are first at the gate when they start letting people in there were lots of people running ahead. But at the same time they have employes with a rope holding the group back as you walk all the way to the rear of the park. No matter how much you try people just keep pushing by you.

Then as you get to fear factor they have this huge crowd being filtered into the single file queue.

Then after that they make you go around DA the long way to Gringotts. It's really hard until you experience it. Time will tell if things improve.

Wow! I can't remember the dates we are going, but we're offsite. We are going two days in late July/early Aug. (Funny to say because I always say we stay onsite because we stay at Disney ;)) What time should we get there?
