We are staying at CBR in Aruba building 54. The atmosphere here is incredible and the landscaping is beautiful. The food court is delicious and the bus service is fantastic! That all being said......the rooms are not good at all! To say ours is in need of an upgrade would be an understatement. It reeks of mold and it needs painting badly. This is not what I would expect from a moderate. It is really a shame because everything else is so nice. We did not ask for a room change because the location was exactly what we asked for and so close to the bus stop. But I really wish I had because my daughter, who has asthma, got sick last night. The mold is very evident on the ceiling in the bathroom.

If your daughter has asthma, you might want to concider asking to be moved. We have only stayed in Jamaica 44 and it was very nice. It wasn't that far from the bus stop either and it also was a short walk to OPR. They are very accomodating from what I hear, especially for medical stuff like that. Hope she feels better. Hope you enjoy the rest of your trip and stay at CBR.

We stayed in Martinique 2549 two years ago and it was fine. My oldest DS has bad allergies, mold and dust and so on, and he had no problems there. He's really sensitive to it, too.

I'm envious that you're there -- but I'll be at CBR in 67 days!!

Okay, this is starting to worry me. We're supposed to be going to CBR in June - after reading a bad review last week, we considered changing, but there seemed to be a lot of good reviews replying.....but, now mold? The bug review bothered me last week, but dh said probably pretty random, - but, me and dd have mold allergies - there's no way - anyone else had this problem at CBR?:confused3

If I were you I'd move. We stayed in Trinidad North in November - completely clean!! We were also in a convenient area to food/pool/bus stops etc. Good Luck.

We stayed in Trinidad in 2005 and my daughter has asthma and bad allergies, she blew up like a balloon the first day and her skin looked like she had hives - we had to use Benadryl the entire trip. The swelling finally wend down on the 4th or 5th day. Our doctor said it was definitely from a mold allergy. We just booked POR for May, I hope we don't run into that problem again.

This keeps getting worse. My son has asthma, the last thing I need is for him to get sick. My sister is down there right now and I told her to go to CBR and take a good look around. Not sure that will help much since I know every room is different, but it will set my mind at ease.

I would say that if you get there and you are not COMPLETELY satisfied with your room, ask to be moved. I am sorry that we did not ask. Others have said that there accomodations were fine, ours were definately not. The rug was filthy, the walls needed a paintjob, the bathroom vanity was chipped and broken, the beds were squeaky and uncomfortable, but the worst thing was the mold on the bathroom ceiling. The whole room smelled bad. As a matter of fact, the second day we were there, they put an air freshener on the top of the TV cabinet. It masked the musty smell a little, but we still knew it was there. When my daughter got sick on our last night, I felt like the world worst mother for not asking to be relocated. In hind sight, I paid extra for a "moderate resort", and should not have had to deal with that. We have always had great rooms in the past, at other resorts. This time, I should have rocked the boat a little.
