Hercules the MUSE-ical

TOO long if you ask me. :jester:

I wasn't nuts about it, but YMMV.

It's been on for at least 2 years. It replaced a "Voyage of the Ghost Ship" show or something like that.

IMHO, WAAAAAAY TOO LONG. I didn't like it the first time and never bothered to try it when we were on the Magic in January.

DCL definetly needs to update their shows.

Hercules is an original with the Cruise line and has been with them since the inception.

While this small sampling seems to indicate it's not well liked, I find it the best program for repeat guests. It has improv and places for interpretation on the part of the actors. While the plot is basically the same, a good/bad Hades can make or break the show!

I give it a thumbs up!

DCL is in the process of creating a new show which will debut in the Fall on the Magic. This was according to the cruise director on our 1/4 Magic cruise.

No one for sure what it is, but the speculation is something to do with Mulan.

Apparently I represent the minority view, but DD8 and I loved it!

I love it too! In fact, we cruise in September and I hope I get to see it one more time before they change (although it will be fun to see a new show, but we are cruising again next year, so we can see the new show than).

I wish they would keep Hercules, and add the new Mulan show. Those with the Dreams show would make up the 3 nights! Are we sure that when the new show starts that Hercules will be gone?

Have not missed a showing the past few years we went, and each time it has a little different feel to it.
Like Euphscott said "a good/bad Hades can make or break the show!", I totally agree.
On our last cruise which happened to be 2/1/03, there was a problem with the lift where he comes up, they could not use it for the last 1/3 of the show, so he came from the side stage making up his lines like nothing was wrong.

JMHO,
Norm

I also need to chime in on the side of loving the show. I see it every time I am on one of the ships, which is not nearly enough. I can't stand Morty, but that's another story.

I heard through some friends of mine that the new show will replace Hercules, but I think the Mulan item is more of a case of adding her to the Disney Dreams show than building a whole show around that story. Least ways, that's what I heard.

:sunny:

DH and I love the show and has been the highlight of the last two cruises.
I am just curious how often they change shows like these, when Hercules's run is up and what do you all think will replace it?

I hear Mulan from one of you, but have any others heard anything different?

Let's start a petition! Keep Hercules, Let Morty "Mort" (For those who don't know French "go away, far away!"

No matter whether Herc goes or stays, you will not please all the people. On a recent cruise, Wonder, the Cruise Director stated that a new show would be coming in August. I would assume that Disney Dreams would be staying, so it's either Herc or Who Wants to be a Mouseketeer!

WELL THEN, I'm glad I got myself on the Mouseketeer panel on the last cruise, JUST in case it's not there in December!!!
