"Her Name Was Definitely Mary". Our 1st anniversary trip, May 2011 *NEW 9/6

I love Philharmagic. There's just something about it! :goodvibes

I feel like sitting in that nook, eating ice cream, and watching the parade from afar while you listen to the music sounds perfect. Especially since I've seen that parade a few times, I don't feel the need to be up close.

I had no idea that there was a secret room on the boat! I never would have guessed that's where that picture was! And the table that you guys stopped to have your ice cream looks so peaceful and relaxing! I am looking for that table next time! :goodvibes

Great update. I think you found a couple quiet places. It looks very nice.

You seem to see more parent acting inappropriately.. between the "washing" their child incident and this one... I am amazed at how strange people can be.

Ah ha! The mystery photo, finally! Very cool-- looks like the Liberty Belle was a nice place to relax! I'm glad Ben can finally enjoy Philharmagic-- it's such a great show!

Love the side street picture, looks quite peaceful against the hubbub of Main St not that far away :)

Gotta laugh at balloon lady, it was wrong for her to take it, but to ask you if she would get arrested

I think that would have irritated me with the balloon...I mean you aren't teaching your kids the best lesson there....I can picture my DBF rolling his eyes at me saying that :rotfl:

I have never been on the Liberty Belle myself, might need to add that to the do list!

We were so surprised when we walked around the Liberty Belle and saw that room. Had never heard of it!

Well, I am a major people watcher... and since it is just Ben and I, I'm not often distracted and can catch these great moments!

I love that little quiet nook in MK! That's fun you were able to see bits of the parade from there too!

It was definitely and added bonus!

I must admit, we didn't pop into that room until we were waiting to get off the boat.

I think she was trying to figure out if we were going to rat her out once she saw us. It was funny that her husband's conscience didn't let him take it, but she had no problem!

Yeah, it was not a huge deal but annoying to me. Just an example of the entitled me-first attitude so many people seem to have. Haha, I think I need a nap- I sound grumpy!

:scared1: Our upcoming trip is only 44 days away! It has been sneaking up on me! And because it isn't a WDW trip, I didn't do the normal plan-every-moment-and-meal thing. But today I sat down and started making lists of things we want to do in each location. While I was doing that, I had the BEST IDEA EVER!

I will admit I have been trying to figure out how to get some time at WDW to fit in to this trip, and it just didn't seem possible. But then I realized that when we land in Orlando, we will be hungry. And since we have to drive all the way to Vero Beach, we really should eat something first. So we'll land, pick up our rental car, then drive to

The Wilderness Lodge! Because we are going to eat lunch at

wilderness-lodge-037-whispering-canyon_JPG.jpg

We ate here during the Backstage Magic tour and Ben and I loved it! We've been dying to go back, and since this will be Ben's birthday, it's a perfect fit!

I must say it feels oh-so-decadent to go to WDW for one meal :rotfl:

Once we're done eating, we'll begin the trek to Vero Beach. The drive will take 2.5 hours or so, but we're not on any schedule at all, so that's fine!

Joyce, that's so fun!! We're sooo excited to eat at WCC this trip! There is something so "fancy" about jaunting off to Disney for one meal haha. Do you think it'll be hard being so close to the parks, though??

Too cool that you are going to fit a meal in!!! And.... you are gong to go to WL. :woohoo:

Ooh v cool having a Disney meal before heading to Vero :teeth:

That sounds EXACTLY like something I would do! I could never be that close to WDW and not find some way to get myself there, even just for a meal. I'm glad it worked out for y'all. :thumbsup2 And WCC is a great place to eat. I remember my dad making us eat there one trip, and we all complained because it was such a hassle to get there from our resort and we were all convinced it wouldn't be that great, but we had a blast!

It's going to be really hard! But it will be fun to say we did it!

:rotfl: I LOVE your meal idea! I mean, you'll definitely be hungry, and what better place to stop for a fun lunch!

Exactly, right??

Too cool that you are going to fit a meal in!!! And.... you are gong to go to WL. :woohoo:

I know! We thought about which restaurant to go to, and WCC was the obvious choice!

I am so proud of this idea!

How are you? I've been thinking about you when reading about what's happening in London...

That sounds EXACTLY like something I would do! I could never be that close to WDW and not find some way to get myself there, even just for a meal. Thanks! I had just about given up on fitting any WDW in, so this is extra fun!

We got up earlier than normal because we had to check in for my flight and get our bags squared away. I was also hoping to make it to the Magic Kingdom for park opening, and since we were still mostly packed from our move from Kidani, I had a good feeling it was gonna happen.

Bell services got our bags just a few minutes after we called them and Ben and I walked to the Hospitality House. We checked in for my flight (Ben would be driving from MCO to Jacksonville for work) and there was some confusion trying to find the checked bags over at bell services. It was a bit frustrating dealing with the airline check in, but we eventually got it figured out. We couldn’t leave yet, though because we had never received the information with our Magical Express pick up time and had to call to get a pick up scheduled. After being on hold for several minutes, I found out that we were already scheduled even though we never got the info. Okay… we could finally head to the MK!

A bus came pretty quickly and we made it the MK having just missed the opening show.

I was sad to have missed it, but it was okay, because we found the trolley and they were singing the ‘Good Morning’ song! Yay!

IMG_5560.jpg

And look at this handsome fellow pulling the trolley!

IMG_5561.jpg

Ben was impressed by the Mickeys on his blinders.

We rode Haunted Mansion again, and I must say that they totally upped the re-rideability factor of this ride! The queue, the attic (so much stuff to look at!), and the new ending… I just love it!
Ben spent a bit of time getting this picture with the eyes open, so I have to include it

After riding Splash Mountain and grabbing Thunder Mountain FPs, we headed over to Tom Sawyer's Island. Ben had never been over there and was very curious.

This picture also took a while to get, we had to time it just right so the little bird in his next was in the picture.

We really had a great time on the Island!
Ben shot some rifles

And I got to check out another abandoned location!

IMG_5570.jpg

Aunt Polly’s has been closed since I started going to WDW as an adult, so I was intrigued to get a glimpse inside. But as Ben was taking the picture, I panicked and became convinced a CM was going to pop out of nowhere and tell us to go away. Luckily, Ben didn’t listen to me and got the picture.
After thoroughly exploring the place, we got back on the raft and headed to the mainland.

I just had to squeeze in another visit to the Country Bears.
IMG_5583.jpg

This was the most crowded I have ever seen the Bears!
IMG_5584.jpg

The park in general was way more crowded today than it had been the rest of the week. But it didn’t bother us, we were doing fun stuff that didn’t involve long lines! By now it was just lunchtime, and our last day tradition held true as we got lunch at Columbia Harbour House. I LOVE the Anchors Aweigh sandwich! We ate upstairs in the room that goes over the path to Liberty Square.
IMG_5578.jpg

I love everything about this place… it is so well themed!

After lunch, it was time to find some more fun, but the park was too crowded for us to attempt any more rides. Instead, we found some rare and elusive iced coffee at the Sunshine Terrace (a place we had never really noticed before), as we were ordering we noticed that there was the option to get an iced coffee float… chocolate ice cream in my coffee? Okay! This was a most indulgent treat and so good!!

IMG_5582.jpg

It was pretty warm, so we finished our ice cream coffee in the Bazaar gift shop right there. We happened to notice this interesting thing:
IMG_5580.jpg

Not sure if you can see it, but that elephant definitely has a ‘Sell by’ date. We found this to be hysterically funny.

Now we realized that we were done with the park; the crowds were just too much. But we still had a good chunk of time before ME would be picking us up... so, what to do?

Just caught up on your last two updates! First, how AWESOME is it that you worked in a pitstop at Disney for your Vero trip? Love that! I'm trying WCC on my November trip and can't wait -- have heard great things!

The Anchors Aweigh sandwich is the tuna one, right? This might be a totally random question, but does the tuna have celery in it? I'd like to try that sandwich since it gets rave reviews, but I'm not a fan of celery in my tuna...

I recently decided that I would like to go over to TSI to explore and see something new, but I didn't know if I'd be able to get Miguel over there. However, thanks to you I now have all the info I need to get him to agree - just tell him there are rifles! :lmao:

Yay I'm glad you are getting to eat at WCC on your next trip! I think it might be hard to be so close to Disney and not go to the parks...you can't just go to the parks for one night? :rotfl:

Fun MK morning! :thumbsup2 The new HM sounds awesome! TSI is cute, but when we went there on our Disneymoon it was so hot, we didn't have a chance to really explore, maybe on this next trip! :thumbsup2

I love CHH, I think that and LTT are themed so well, I love how old timey they are!

Wow, Country Bears was really crowded! :scared1: Brandon will never see Country Bears again, he wanted to leave in the middle of it when I made him see it on one of our trips! :rotfl:

We really, really enjoyed WCC when we ate there during our tour. So good!

I don't think the Anchors Aweigh has celery... but I can't swear to it. I don't mind celery in my tuna, so it isn't something I'm sure I would notice. I do know that there is an extra yumminess that not all tuna sandwiches have!

Rifles and horse butts!

Seriously, it is a very fun place to check out!

You have no idea how much I am trying to figure out how to get to a park! But we don't have APs, and won't be going back to WDW till mid October 2012, so buying them isn't an option this year. But I am so looking forward to our one-meal visit!

I know I am in the minority when it comes to loving the Country Bears, but I find the songs hilarious. They are so, so weird!
