Thanks SO much Shirley!
Only 200,000? I was hearing 1/2 million. Maybe it won't be as bad as I fear.
Hi Shirley,
I have some questions for you.
1. We are sailing on the Dream on 5/12. We are planning on parking at the port. Will there be problems finding a parking spot?
2. Last year, the night before the cruise we ate at Fishlips. We enjoyed it very much. This year we are planning to spend part of the day prior to the cruise at the Space Center. Do you have any recommendations for a seafood restaurant lunch in the Titusville area? Or, should we go to Fishlips again? Any recommendations would be appreciated.
3. I just read on this thread about the Manatee Park close to the Radisson. (We are staying at the Country Inn and Suites.) I'd love to see a manatee. We have a car, so we can drive to it. Will there be manatees out in mid May?
Thanks for all of your help.
Manatees may be out - if not give me a call and if they are out in back of me, I will get you and your family permission to go out on our dock to see them and the dolphins - they usually visit the condo here early in the mornings - mamas, daddies, babies etc - no problem - Manatee Bay is a beautiful place for the city of Cape Canaveral has really done a lot of improves there - nice quiet, restful, peaceful place -REMEMBER DO NOT DISTRUB OR FEED THEM OK?
ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is a hard question for I am assuming you will be driving in - we now will have 2 park N cruise areas - one in Merritt Island and second one at the Radisson for $6.99 OR at the port for $15.00 -me? I would go with the Radisson or the one in Merritt Island - IF you make reservations now, there shouldn't be any problem and if there is CALL ME and I will see what I can do to help
as for eating in Titusville - you can not beat Dixie Crossroad - their rock shrimp is worth the drive

OK UPDATE ON TRAFFIC FOR THE APRIL 29TH FINAL LAUNCH
It is sa thatover 1 million will be here for it especially with President Obama, his family and the Gifford/Kelly's here - IF YOU ARE COMING OVER, COME HERE THE DAY BEFORE OR VERY EARLY IN THE AM. Try NOT to park on hwy 528 for if you do, you will be sitting for hours before you can get to your designation ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE KIDS - if you are going to Jetty Park, be aware they fill up very fast and once they close their gates, you are stuck and routed around a residence area behinds many many vehicles - if you are staying at the hotels here, you can watch right from the parking lot and see the launch - IF you go to KSC, you will have an awesome sight, but again you have the traffic on US1 - you can go to the beach here and still have a bird's eye view - bring lots of snacks and especially drinks - if you have any issues or concern, you can call me here at the shop and will help any way we can.
MEANWHILE ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OK THIS IS SOMETHING YOU CAN NOT MISS IF YOU ARE HERE - ONCE IN A LIFETIME EVENT FOR THE FAMILY. ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very cool Shirley! Wish I could be there, but headed your way tomorrow.
Any recent updates on traffic plans after the launch? I had read rumors about them opening up both sides of 528 headed west (similar to hurrican evacuations) after the launch, but never saw anything official.
Thanks for all the help you provide us tourists. ;-)
MUST READ!!!! NEW UPDATE INFORMATION ON THE RADISSON
The Radisson is now providing Ambassdors at all the ships and they can be easily spotted for they will be holding a Radisson banner - it was tried this weekend and was very sucessful.
The Port Authority will NOT ALLOW anyone to be around the main exit from the terminal, but they will direct the cruisers to the Radisson pick up area where you can board your shuttle and there you will find the ambassador to help make you feel safe and comfortable. Each of these ambassadors can communicate with all the other drivers and coorindate each pick-up. Noone should be waiting 20 mins max.
New additional shuttles will be ready within 45 days.
We also now have a personal phone for those that have any questions or need help with transportation. Don't hesitate to take this phone number with you - the Radisson does offer such great people-friendly service and are eager to help in any way they can.
