Helpful Information For You Updated 03/30/2012

Shirley, I just have to say 'thanks' again. We have dealt with the price gouging stations back in 08 where they were over $5 a gallon across the street from where we were dropping the car rental (we had filled up before leaving the resort, but wanted to top it off to avoid any charges). The car return price was more than $2 less that that station so we pulled away and took the car back.

We'll be staying at the Country Inn in about six weeks and are so excited to be heading back to Fl.

Thanks for always keeping everyone up to date.

Thanks so much jstevens -its always good to know the good, bad and the ugly - Several years ago I called these 2 stations about their hidden prices and also about gouging our visitors and I was promply told not only was it none of my business, but if I kept "annoying" them, they would file ''suit'' against me for harrassment:sad1:
I was really glad that the City of Orlando finally brought the hammer down on them - lets see if they will comply now :sad2:
Anyhow come on down for we keep the lights on all night for you :flower3:
have a safe trip down

I just thought to share this information with those that are interested in hair braiding - I went with my granddaughter to get her hair done and if I had been younger, I would be here at work today looking different :) - anyhow just a fleeing thought and Kim was great

Good morning JillJill - everyone knows how lost, fusterated you can feel when being in a strange town, don't know anyone, can't turn to anyone, have an issue, situation, bad weather and just need help or just talk to someone about it so a solution can be found. You feel like either pulling your hair out or just finding a corner, sitting down and just bawling - well I know that feeling very well and even though I may not be able to solve the issue, I sure can at least try to help and that is why especially during "bad" weather time, I do post my cell phone number for those that need a safe haven. Never has it cost anyone anything and never has tied anyone to any obligations - its just a friendly hand stretched out for those that may need it.
Have a great week sweetie or what is left of it all
(((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Thanks so much Shirley! I ordered mine last week (but they haven't arrived yet) and some were already sold out then.

The information is just breathless - I have all the copies ever put out on the launches and what will come next is hard to say - they are just so great for kids to share with their teachers or just have to look back on. Post when you get your copy ok?

Shirley,

:thumbsup2 You are SO kind! I've read through a great deal of your thread, and it has 'oodles' of great ideas, pointers, helps! But to post your cell? How very kind! Our first ever Disney cruise is Oct 8-15 and we're flying down from Memphis. Getting here a day early (of course, following advice from folks here on the Dis), and will be driving from DTD to the Port on Saturday. Let's hope there's no severe weather! But if there is, and we're delayed, or postponed...we're coming to see your shop!:goodvibes Thanks again..you've really helped this newbie!

You are always more than welcome sweetie to come on over - listen we even have had a couple of families use our spare bedroom to catch a nap for a few hours after experiencing something that unnerved them - its nothing fancy, but at least its a safe zone - the shop has more than one time taken in a family or two, had coffee, cookies something - it always comforting to know in a strange town that there is somewhere you can go or talk to - been there and done that so that is why the shop has a backyard to just step outside and relax - feel at home thing - make sure you take my cell for those "just in case" incidents.

Shirley, you are so sweet. I hope we have the opportunity to meet you one day.

:thumbsup2 Again..thank you! Not sure you'd be ready for our 'crew' of 7 to hit your place, but if we get a chance, we'll come by! With these new port hours, you just never know! If they tell us to 'drive around'...we'll be seeing ya!

Have a great Friday!:goodvibes

At one time, I had 18 here at the shop - it was in 2004 when Francis was just hours away and we had 6 adults 12 kids and the panic was a little high, but as everyone realized we had things under control, then it became party time - brought out drinks, cookies, sandwiches, and of course games for the kids until everything was put into place and everyone left for a safe zone compliments of Radisson and Avis car rental - no serious problem

It's a very sad thing to find yourself in Port Canaveral with a car, some extra time and to drive by the shop to see Shirley ..... and it's CLOSED! :sad1:

But it's even sadder to have it happen twice!

ONE THE DAYS....I'll get to  Shirley!

This happened to us too, we arrived later on a Saturday for an Sunday cruise so we missed the shop being open. Definitely planning on stopping by this time, since we arrive Wednesday (just hope they are still open when we get to the Port).
